thank god i read all this.. i forgot about the no liquid thing.. I was actually in Disney in Aug of 06 when that whole plot to blow up planes from England was folded.. boarding our plane was crazy.. all the stuff they took. I didnt know if anything had changed.. The sunscreen wipes are a great idea.. i have 4 bodies to deal with.. can we each.. carry a 3 oz on??? using the ME we may not see our luggage for a few hours so its needed unless we just buy it there... decisions

I buy travel sizes of Coppertone SPF 40 in the travel size aisle at my local Wal-Mart. I've seen this at Target, as well!

carry a 3 oz on???

You can carry whatever amount of 3oz bottles (of sunscreen, shampoo, toothpaste, any combination there of) that will fit into a quart size ziploc. They must be in a quart ziploc though, that will close.


If you need to carry something (well some "somethings"- check the list!) in a bottle larger than 3oz. (for example, I had a liquid prescription medicine for my daughter) you can still take it, but need to separately declare it at security.

Walgreens sells their brand sunscreen in 3 oz tubes. Very reasonably priced, like 2/$5.00. I took 2 in our carryons last year. I have redheads, enough said

I packed our usual spray-on sunscreen in our checked luggage.

You do get a ziplock bag per passenger so if you are like us and have 4 people in your family you get 4 ziplock bags. Not that we have ever needed that many.

And it depends on the airport. The other day I was coming home from a work trip and this woman in front of me had 2 ziplocks that were over stuff and way too much stuff in general. They let her through!

Then I had a time I had 1 small container of sunscreen in my coat pocket - I had checked bags so I had nothing else. They told me it had to be in a ziplock (I had 1 2oz container total!) That airport did not have any ziplocks so goodbye tube!

another stupid question.. i apologize... can i stick like 3 3oz bottles of sunscreen in one ziplock bag...??? that should be fine right?
