Hi,
Boots are doing a special offer so I thought I would get my sun tan lotion in early ( we aren't going til August). I just wondered which factors you get to take out there? Its only for me and my husband, we both tan quite well but can burn easily too. I was going to get a high factor and a lower factor.

Any tips?

Thanks

I'm going in June and planning on taking SPF 45 for my children and a 30 and 15 for myself and my husband. I tan well also but the Florida sun can be brutal. Only place I ever got sun poisoning, and that was on a day we didn't go to the pool until after 4. My advice: start high until you know how you'll react.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

We've just got back and even at this time of year (and with some cloudy days) people were getting severely burned - lots of red skin around! We tend to use factor 20 and factor 15 - whereas when we go to the Algarve in July, we tend to use factor 8 and 6.

I always take a range, from 45 to 15. I figure you still tan with the higher SPF's and anything is better than getting burned! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

One other quick question - would we best getting it here or waiting until we get over there? We are going to the Walmart as soon as we get there - we dont have sensitive skin so could use any brand. Is it a lot cheaper over there? I am just remembering a previous holiday where our lotion exploded all over our cases!!

Thanks

I tan easily but still wear a factor of at least 30, higher if actually laying in it by the pool. My kids are 8 and 10 and wear factor 50 and above in Florida (still come home tanned all over!!).

I would never use less than a Factor 30 in Florida even though I tan well. The sun is extremely intense there and all too often you see people with raw, red skin which makes life uncomfortable in the heat, apart from the potential risk of skin cancer.
Have fun...

I too have taken adventage of the sun tan lotion offer in boots and i'm not going till September I got factor 60 for DD who will be 3 and factor 20 for myself and DH. We are also going straight to wal-mart when get there so will purchase myself a higher factor as i burn very easy. DH just tans straight away:tongue: :Pinkbounc

We went last week in feb and first week in march this year.We took factor 50 for all of us, as i can burn quite bad and hubbys skin has never seen the light of day.I really wasnt sure if it was a too high factor but i didnt want the kids to burn.We have all come home with a tan.We actually got it from wal-mart over there. It was cheaper than home and you dont have to worry about it spilling out on the flight over.

I used P20 while we were there last week. You have to put it on 90 mins b4 exposure but that wasn't a problem. DD got severely burnt last year whilst on holidays with her Dad and ended up in hospital in Majorca. I bought her an all~in~one uv suit for the water parks and a rash t shirt for the pool. We all used p20 and none of us burnt.
