One of my favorite things about summertime is the smell of suntan lotion. It always reminds me of a day at the beach. I also like sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmellows and listening to the cicadas.

Summer to me always means endless daylight. When I was little we could stay out playing until 10 or 11 at night because the sun was still out.

Now I just like to sit and watch them twinkle in the dark.

hearing fireworks, hearing to "watch the tramcar please. watch the tramcar please" on one of the many jersey shore boardwalks, waves crashing on the beach, baseball, the smell from the grill. i love it all!!

Okay you made me want to cry with the fudgie wudgie thing. I remember all the summers spent in Ventnor, NJ and Arnold was our favorite ice cream man and I can just hear him now saying get your fudgie wudgies.
Our shore house was on the same block as the ice-cream headquarters, so we new all the ice cream men well.

One of my favorite memories from childhood summers were the sounds of parents standing on their front porch at dusk and calling their kids to come home. The parents didn't know exactly where their kids were, they just knew they were playing with the other neighborhood kids in someone's backyard. Back then we roamed freely in our own neighborhoods from the time we were about six. Of course, the world has changed, and I don't let my own kids do this.

Another favorite summer sound is the lawn mower. (As long as I'm not the one pushing the lawnmower!)

Laughter is another favorite summer sound. It just seems like everyone is more willing to stand out in their yard visiting with their neighbors on a lazy summer evening.

I love the sound of the waterfall at my friends pool...I could sit in her backyard for hours. I love the sun as well and the sound of kids playing and having fun.

The smell of Coppertone, the sounds of the shore, the sound of a ball hitting a bat, looking for that perfect stick for roasting marshmallows, picking ripe tomatoes. I love summer!
