Summertime - what are the hot dates?

Hi everyone!!

We are brand new to the boards and are almost brand new to DVC. Our purchase at SSR is being made on Tues.!!

Anyway, we are both teachers with a 19, 16 and 3 yr old, who will be traveling primarily in the summer months (mid June - mid August). Other than July 4th, are there any ultra busy summer weeks for booking DVC?

Not really - in fact, summertime is actually easier to book than some of the other seasons.

You shouldn't have any trouble at all booking a stay at your new home, SSR (because it is the largest on site DVC resort and because you will have the 11 month window there).

If you want to stay at the smaller BCV with the very popular pool complex, you should call as soon as the 7 month window opens for your dates - I'd recommend day by day for mid-June through mid-August. Summer is very popular there because of the pool.

I would also recommend calling at 7 months for the other WDW resorts, although I do not think day by day is necessary.

Summer is busy esp 4th of July. But if you plan ahead and book exactly at the 7 month window, you should be OK. The smaller more in demand resorts might be tougher so if you want a specific resort, you should likely call day by day. The issues that are likely to be a problem would be the Grand Villas anywhere, BWV for both standard and BW view plus the 2 Queen two BR units at the BC. Of course HH will be VERY tough during this time as well.
