Summer's Wish Trip, Pre-trip Report!

Hi! I've been lurking on these boards for a while, and am just figuring out how to use them, so I am trying to make my own PT report! Hopefully I do it right!!!

My name is Marla and my daughter Summer is my Wish Child. She just turned 3 in August, and LOVES all things Disney, and Princessy. She was dx with Leukemia (pre B ALL) on Halloween of last year.

When MAW came to ask what her wish was, she said "I want to go swimming with Mickey Mouse, and Cinderella, Rapunzel, Princess Tiana, Belle, Arielle, Alice in Wonderland, Minnie etc...." She also said she wanted to see Cinderella's castle "spooky". She loves "spooky" things, so I thought what a great time to go! During the Halloween season! Especially because last Halloween was the WORST Halloween of our lives (with Summer Trick or Treating in the hospital with an IV pole trailing behind her!!!). So we are going October 12th-19th!

My Husband and I are so happy that her wish was granted! We are all so excited! Summer also has 2 older brothers. Caleb who is 12 and Ryder who is 7. We were glad to go now, when her brothers were still on the younger side, and when Summer is SOOOOO into Disney. Also, she is doing very well with her treatments, and is in the maitenence stage of treatment (until May 2013) so it will be a nice break!

We are staying in GKTW.

We will also be at GKTW while you are there. I think ANY age is a great one to be at Disney! Congratulations on Summer's Wish!

Thanks!!! I am having such a hard time navigating here! It just took me forever to find this thread! haha

That is so cool that you will be there too! I can't believe that it is basically 2 weeks away!!! All of a sudden it is HERE!!!

I am trying my best to plan our day to day activities, and make sure all 3 kids enjoy their time.
So far the plans are as follows:

Wednesday: arrive in morning, enjoy all that GKTW has to offer, go to the orientation, visit the walmart nearby. Maybe go to Universal or something in the late day/evening depending on how the day goes

Thursday: Hollywood Studios/back to GKTW/ Then to the MK "Not So Spooky Halloween Party" (which means missing the xmas party...bummed, but I figured enjoying Halloween this year is the highlight of this trip, so we chose Halloween Party over Xmas party)

Friday: Epcot (reservations at Garden Grill for lunch)...not sure where else yet, playing it by ear probably doing the Pirate and Princess Party at GKTW!

Saturday: Sea World in the morning, Meet and feed the dolphins on the dolphin tour/ Then possibly visiting DTD to shop and look around (the boys love the Lego store and all the stuff made out of legos), and reservations at the Rainforest Cafe (not 100% sure but made the reservations just in case!)

Sunday: Universal Studios

Monday: MK day! Summer is going to the BBB in the late morning, and then she and I are eating dinner at Cinderella's Table!

Tues: we leave :-( Hang at GKTW until it is time to go!

We are soooo excited!!!!

Oh, and I have NO clue how to post pictures or those ticker things or anything like that or how I do an actual Trip report when it is time to do that! I am pretty clueless ! LOL

Hi Marla!!! Welcome to the Dis!!! So cool to find you here....the internet has a way of making our world even smaller!

If you look on the front page of the wish tripper thread....there will be a post/link that explains how to post pictures!

We will be at GKTW at the same time!! We arrive on Friday of your trip and plan to attend the Pirates and Princess party. We're a little off on other events, we are going to Epcot on Satruday and Sea World on Sunday.

We sure are getting excited around here, and this trip has been FANTASTIC way to keep our minds off cancer.

This sounds so great! It's so great that Summer is so into Disney.. I hope my children love Disney as much as she does! Don't worry about figuring things out right away.. It definitely takes some time.. I have no idea how to do some things When you go, you should take lots of pictures and then write a Trip Report! I would love to see all of the happiness this is going to bring your daughter
