Summer's Planning Journal 08/20 Update 08/10/07

You have really beautiful eyes! I actually like the brown the best then the blue. I think I agree with the girls above...natural for the wedding, fun colors for the honeymoon :) But of course, you will look beautiful in whichever you choose!

i would say natural if your wedding is more traditional ,but if you are having a more non trad wedding blue.

Both look great

i agree with the girls go with your gut

Thanks girls:hug: I do love my brown eyes, I always get compliments on them, but I always thought of brown eyes as boring, I guess cause I've had them all my life, I always wondered what it would be like ot have a different color. When I told my DF that I was thinking of using colored contacts for the ceremony, his face just dropped, he really loves my eyes. Maybe I should buy clear ones for the ceremony? My eyes really aren't that bad but I definately want to see everything clearly at the wedding. My DF is wearing glasses, he also wears them for distances and monitors, but he said he wanted to be able to see me from afar while I walked down the aisle.

I'd suggest getting clear contacts (I have horrible vision and wear contacts, or glasses, every moment of every day!). Like other posters have said, the blue are pretty and the purple are fun, and the green are pretty too, but for your wedding you might regret one day not having your natural eye color.

Also, as a brown eyed girl I know what you mean about thinking brown is boring but it's actually a beautiful color! You'll look great no matter what!!

I have dark brown eyes also - your eyes are beautiful. I personally would stick with your natural color - you'll come to appreciate it in years to come....by the way - LOVE your hair!!

I think your brown eyes are beautiful, and if it were me, I'd get clear contacts for the ceremony.

I used to have blue contacts. I also have blue eyes. Seems silly, right? But it was suggested to me that they'd be "easier to find if I dropped them" if I got the blue ones. I got so sick of people asking if I wore coloured contacts because my eyes were "soooo bluuuuue", that I switched to clear. I felt like a fake.

Know what? I can find them just fine when I drop them!

I love your natural eyes! :thumbsup2 I vote brown...

DH used to wear colored contacts (one green, one violet just like you have in your pic above). I've always liked him better with his plain eyes (clear contacts)...

Hi summer-caitlin
I think the blue look lovely, very exotic! not too sure about the violet, brown gorge as well!:thumbsup2
If your df likes you experimenting with different looks i would go for the blue.
You want to look slightly different to everyday, but still you at the same time (if that makes sense)
I'm sure whatever you go for you'll look brillprincess:
Just one more thing, how are you doing sooo well on your weightloss?
My weddings in feb but i seem to of hit a blip at the moment, and cant get going again.....such a hard slog!:sad2:

S-C,

Hey! I made it back. Phew those exams were rough. I hope I didn't miss too much on your journal. I wanted to echo the others who said to go with those gorgeous brown eyes on the wedding day. It'll always be classic. Then you can kick it up on the honeymoon for all the other pics. that would be loads of fun.

Well I'm definately hanging around now so I'm following your journal intently. You must be getting so excited! Your wedding is so close!

I think your brown eyes are gorgeous! Stick to that on your wedding! You can always pick up a colored pair to wear around on the honeymoon when you feel like changing it up :)

I have brown eyes too and always thought of them as boring as well. In high school, I got all kinds of color contacts, blue green violet red. I wore them to prom and all types of events that I can not get back and many years later I look back and I scare myself...I sometimes wonder why I thought I looked good (but who doesn't look at old pictures and feel that way)

I think you should wear your normal beautiful eye color, if anything take the color contacts with you and get some close up shots with the color contacts in. But my overall vote is for the clear.

I like your brown eyes or the green 2nd because i think it is less noticible. I have a friend who like you was born with brown hair and eyes and she dyes her hair blonde and wears these bright blue contacts...which I think looks crazy on her, but I have known her since she was born(they are not her). I think you look beautiful the way you are. My eyes are blue with yeloowish around my pupil - and people tell me my eyes are green now, which really offends my Aunt (hahaha) she says my eyes are BLUE! They have never been clear blue like Josh's eyes are - but my contact are lightly tinted only so I can see them in the case. Good luck!

Summer, you honestly have beautiful eyes. My vote goes for the natural brown look:thumbsup2

Thanks alot girls for the advice. I have decided to go with my natural color of eyes, I must admit I had been having second thoughts about having the colored contacts. Plus I know what kind of make up goes with my own color of eyes, and of course it does go with my black hair:thumbsup2 Plus as my DF said, he loves my eyes, so why would I want to cover them up?:goodvibes

On another note I requested Paul as our photographer for the MK Shoot and our Honeymoon Shoot, Tanis said that they try and accommodate special requests as much as possible, so I'm really hoping we get him. After seeing some recent MK pics from this guy I definately want him as our photographer.

I am also having difficulty obtaining a Sand Ceremony Kit that can be dispatced to the UK, I have found one that we really like and Tanis suggested getting it sent to The Caribbean Beach Resort where we will be spending the first leg of our wedding/disneymoon. She said I can have it sent out to them, at the most 9 days before the wedding and ask them to keep it for our arrival. Does everyone think this is okay? The set I found only dispatches to the US:confused3 I guess I'm concerned it may get lost due to the amount of holiday makers at this time of year, and then what?, no sand kit?

Also when it comes to weight loss, well I guess I've just been using the common sense approach. I really want to lose at least another 14 pounds, mainly for pics I must say! I'm exercising loads, the closer it gets to the wedding, the more I am doing. Now that Summer is finally here it means I can get out, do more sports and take the dog for long walks. If anyone has any more tips for losing weight, I'm always open to them, esp since I have only 2 more months to go!!!

Summer just wanted to say we have stayed at Disney alot during Christmas. Always had boxes sent to the resorts and never had a problem. We had them put a note on our reservation to be expecting packages. Hope you get this figured out.

Hi, thank you for a brilliant read and congratulations!

We are looking at a Disney wedding in a couple of years time and it has been great to read your plans. You've planned what we were thinking of with the SBP at 10:00, lunch and dinner.

It's also great to read a plan from a UK bride as it all seemed a bit daunting to me, but I feel happier now.

I've found my dream dress and also got a great price on the internet, but i want to try some on first to make sure the style suits me. Good luck with the woman who is trying to make you pay the whole amount for the initial one - what a cheek!

Congratulations again, and please keep posting!

Okay girls, I went wedding ring shopping yesterday and I encountered great difficulty in selecting a wedding band that will fit alongside my engagement ring. I am looking for a plain 18ct White Gold ring, quite thin i.e 3mm prob, at the most. Now you have all seen my engagement ring, it's not traditional in it's shape. All the wedding rings I tried on did not fit flush and there was a big gap that was very obvious and quite frankly annoying:mad: So I came away with no wedding ring, neither did DF as he wants a matching plain band.
So I have a pic here of a woman's hand, below, who is in the same predicament as me. My question is, do you think this looks okay?
After sleeping on it, I think I'm slightly more open to it, but I am hoping for your opinions. If any of you girls out there had a similar problem I would love to know what you all did.

Here's the pic:

Summer- I have the same problem, I still have 14 months to go so have been looking into it now and even gone doen the route of having one made!! That is quite a bit more expense and we have even looked at buying a bridal set from ernest jones so that they match. After looking at friends rings i have just come to the conclusion that i'm never going to have them match exactly and I dont want to get rid of my original engagement ring. I'm just going to put up with the gap, I think most people have the same problem
