Summer's Planning Journal 08/20 Update 08/10/07

The stats on the diamonds are: I-J in color, and VS2-SI1 in clarity .

'Difficult to find under 10X magnification, impossible to see inclusions with the naked eye'
'Diamonds ranging from D to F in color have virtually no color tone and are the most valuable. Diamonds in the range of G to J are almost colorless and most people cannot detect color tones in them'

I think it is M's on the side band. Weird huh? Apparently the center diamond is 3.5mmx3.5mm, is it just me or is that small? It seems small on a ruler:lmao:

Sening you a PM . . .

I don't know mm in the US everyone talks inches and sometimes cm measures :confused3

I like the first one-- I agree-- the sides are what sealed the deal on my vote!:goodvibes

Okay, I am still on the ring thing and I have found a really simple ring that I also love, well two actually:

I just love the diamond on the side view and I love the simplicity of it. I love Princess cut diamonds, but I have been reading up on diamonds and round diamonds seem to have more sparkle to them, however I still think the Princess goes really well with this ring:thumbsup2

Here is the other one I like:

Again I have never been a lover of solitaires, I guess it's cause I have long fingers so it has to be a larger ring for it to look good, so I love this 3 stone look.

However that said I really love the first one and can up the carat, if I want and then look for a Wedding ring seperately, maybe a plain one.....

Also I received an email from Tanis asking me to confirm which cake I would like. I sent her the picture in this planning journal that I initially thought I would like, however over the weekend, I searched again and found this picture:

wedding-cake-C-red-cala-lilies.jpg

I love contemporary designs and as I am having calla lillies for my bouquet, I thought this would be lovely. I was thinking of yellow calla lillies and black satin ribbon, it's tempting to get the castle, but it seems very expensive, esp when I can't keep it. If I could that would be a different story.

I got a worrying email from Rosie stating she has me booked for my Bridal Shoot on Aug 17th (WRONG!!!) This is my Wedding Day and it should be booked for the 18th. I have emailed her back and explained this, so here's hoping that she has made a mistake and no one has my slot. I checked my emails from last year and Tanis has stated I am booked for the 18th at 05.00am, well I sincerely hope so......

summer have you got those items you purchased off that website from the us yet? i think you ordered your shoes and gloves?

Summer,

I really like the first ring (but I'm biased -- it's like mine -- I have the side view too). You're right about the "round diamond sparkles more" phenomenon. I always liked the look of the princess cut until I saw the difference it the brilliance of the round in comparison. So in the end I decided I liked it better.

The cake is just gorgeous :thumbsup2

The unity candle is really gorgeous!

I read the link and researched a bit, my officiant told me that if I need anything shipped I can use him and he will bring it to the wedding. I have also heard that wedding planners might do this for you too.

I think it is expensive for unity candle but it is beautiful. I have read the description too and you can refill so you can lit it on anniversaries or special occasions.

I am too hesitate about getting unity candle before I fly as they do seam expensive or do I just see if I can pick one up when I am shopping out there and take a chance that I will get the one I want.

Anyway what I am trying to say is that you can still have the candle if you ask your officiant or wedding planner if they would except delievery.

Don't worry about Rosie, I had the same with my MK photoshoot, they said it was booked the day after at 6am but I arranged it with Karen for 5am the day of the wedding.

It just worked out that Karen didn't feedback to Rosie and that the paperwork was typed wrong.

orangetiggs - I haven't received my items yet, but she emailed me and said that some of the products I ordered come direct from the manufacturer to her, then to me, which is why there is a delay. I'm not bothered though as my Wedding is still 5 months away. I have ordered shoes, lingerie, crystal hair pins and gloves.

ForKeeps - I totally love this cake, it is so simple, but gorgeous! I think you're right about round diamonds appearing more brilliant. Do you have a pic of your ring? It would be nice to see something similar with the round stone.

pepples22 - I never really thought about asking Tanis or my officiant, I may just do that though. I'm definately not speding the $200 that Disney expects me to for a Unity Candle.

Mine is from Mappins, and I quickly looked to see if they had their rings on their website but unfortunately they don't. Tonight (hopefully I remember) I'll ask DH if he will take some pictures with the digital camera. I'd do it -- but he's much better with the settings, especially when it comes to using the macro.

It works really well with my channel set wedding band, which I believe were some of the bands you liked above.

I agree, with you about disney. I was sent all the information about the unity candles, but they seamed so expensive, by the time you buy the candles then the floral it was approaching $300.

I got an email from my officiant this morning say he would accept it for me. My officiant is Kevin Knox and he is really helpful. Definently try your officiant or Disney before giving up on the candle you have a picture of it is beautiful.

I am looking to order off there as well but wanted to wait till you had yours and how good it all was before I placed an order

I received an email from Rosie today stating that I am confirmed for Aug 18th for my Bridal shoot at MK.:thumbsup2

She has also said I can have my crystal hidden Mickeys in my bouquet which are white and yellow calla lillies, I have opted for 10 at $3 each.
She also suggested crystals down the front of the ribbon tying my flowers, these will cost $1 each and the ribbon color is black.

I am having a memorial white calla lily with greenery and ribbons on a single chair for my father.

I am also purchasing the satin and chiffon bridal purse with the crystal Mickeys on.

I can hire out globes for the Unity Candle arrangement for $15, which I think is great, I was considering just going with Disney for ease, but I think without the floral arrangement it may look quite bare. The floral arrangement comes in at $150 (way too much). I think I need to give the Unity Arrangement some more thought.

I'm really worried about the extra costs now. I have asked to have my cake designed slightly different, but if it's too much, I'll stick with the provided intimate cake.

Tanis also said she would have to add an hour's hire to my limo at $85 per hour, to get us back from Citricos to our hotel, CBR. I'm thinking I may drop this though as it seems very expensive to get us back to our hotel. I would rather have the limo take us to V & A and take us back again. Does anyone know if there are other companies that may be able to do this for a better amount? We are going to V & A for 06.30pm and probably coming back around 11.00pm (still might hire Randy for extra photos)
I would love to come back in some nice transport as I will have my Wedding dress on. Any ideas?

I just received a response from Shopforbridal saying that all my items should ship from them next week. She is still waiting on a couple of things to come in but expecting them this week. I'll be sure to let everyone know what I think when I get them. I'm really excited:hyper: , I get my gloves, shoes, crystal hair pins and lingerie:blush:

I don't know what to do about transportation back after dinner either. We'll have my car since we're driving down to FL, so DF may go pick it up at Pop sometime during the day so that I won't have to take a taxi in my dress  I looked into hiring a car service, but it was too much of an added expense. Sorry I can't be of more help, just wanted to let you know you're not alone with this problem!

Summer,

Sorry it took me so long. It's been one of thse weeks. I've left the pictures as big as possible to get as much detail. I tried my best. I hope it is helpful.

Wow, thanks Tiffany, that's exactly the kind of shot I wanted:banana:
From the picture I have it was quite difficult to imagine what a thicker band would look like on. It looks beautiful, and you even got a shot of your wedding ring. I was wondering what kind of wedding ring would go but I can see the channel set ones goes really well. The round stone is beautiful, I think I may go for that. Thanks loads for posting this, it has helped me alot:hug:

Here are some hair pins that I really like the look of, I'm thinking of wearing my hair down and straight, but textured as this is how my DF loves my hair, but I thought I could maybe add some sparkle:
