Hi, I'm endlessly searching for a reasonable price for the summer holidays. Nothing seems to be below £2000 for 4 going from Manchester.
Anyone with experience reassure me that the airlines will have Sales or give me advice on past experience.

£2000 for 4 doesnt seem that bad to me!

school hols are a killer, thi sis the first year that our daughter is 18, and we can gonot in the school hols.

We are taking her boyfriend, we saved 2 K by not going in the school hols.

So I think 2K to go was a good deal !

£2000 for 4 seems a really good price to me - if that includes car hire and accomadation that I cant see you getting anything cheaper.

That sounds like a great deal to me. Is that for flights or a package deal?

If its a package then I'd book it like a shot.

fantastic price where did you get that quote from. we payed £2000 last july and that was out of school hols. the most expensive we payed was £2300 for august 2 adults and 1 child and 1 infant. we did have a great price one year for the whole pakage and that was £1900 for 3 weeks 2 ad and 2 cd but that was the 7th may onwards .

We're paying £1900 for 3 flights into Miami, so an extra £100 for one more sounds good to me:thumbsup2

It's a shocker, the prices for the summer, but working in a school and DD in
Y10 (would not dream of taking her out of school), we have no option if we go for more than two weeks . . . . .:sad2:

I remember talking to an American lady in Boston a couple of years ago, and she was telling me that for them the summer is the cheapest time to go to Florida because it is just too hot down there. :confused3

£2000 was just for the flights. Last year we managed to get flights for £1400 for four, for July/August. The big problem with last year was indirect flights and the airport was not local (4hour drive). So in my head I thought maybe £1800 for direct flights. Like i've stated all I have seen is 2k for indirect.

Can't give you what you would like to hear :(
Trying to book for July/Aug at this point in time, 2K for 4 indirect seems not too far wide of the mark from Man.
Based on last year prices, a £100 per head premium for direct in July/Aug seems optimistic to me.

We've paid over £2000 fr two people in June, so you'll definitely be lucky to find it cheaper than that in the middle of the school holidays and with another two people. What you will find though is that if you're booking accomodation separately, it will be cheaper for a Disney hotel in August, than it will in June (£800+ in June, £500+ in August). If you can then find reasonably priced flights you'll be on to a winner, however the flights are the opposite to accomodation and you'll probably find that they near enough double in price from June to August.

Thanks everyone
I've maybe missed the boat on the best prices, but I've read posts from people who have booked 10 days or a month before and paid bargain rates. Ah well might just have to play a waiting game and ring around charters in the weeks before.

Hi we have tried the go next week for £... thing but on the occasions we have tried we have not been able to get 6 seats on the plane!

I would have agree those prices were cheap. Personally I like to get booked up as soon as I can especially when having to go in the summer holidays. If I were you I would do that (finances being okay of course) otherwise you may not be able to get the holiday you want.
