Summer !!

Is summer a good time to go to Walt Disney World ??? (August)

If you wrap your body in a wool blanket, wet it, then throw yourself into an oven at 350 degrees and can tolerate it then I say sure c'mon down :rotfl:

In all seriousness it does get hot, if you're smart, dress light, drink plenty of H2O and drinks to supply what you sweat like Gatorade G2 then you can enjoy yourself

Aug is HOT humid and best spent at the pool. Summer crowd level is still high unless you go the last week of Aug when school is back in session. Room rates are still on the high side.

Speaking from a native Floridian point of view, it's too hot, humid and miserable. I personally would pick October or later if you can do it. Now, if you are planning on coming in August, I would say go to a park in the morning, go back to the hotel for lunch and a nap or swim in the pool. Then go back to the park or to another park in the late afternoon.

agreed! :thumbsup2

Living in Central FL, I can tell you that we (me & DH) avoid Disney like the plague in the summer. It's HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I mean like 2 degrees cooler than walking on the sun hot.

If you can stand lots and lots of heat, the crowds are generally managable though. I would agree with the whole take a mid day break from the parks for several hours thing.

I lived in central florida for 5 years and then moved to...... Las Vegas where starting in late may it is over 100 everyday until late september. We are going this june for two weeks... To me it will be cooler.... But its the humidity im afraid will do us in... Humidity in vegas is about 6%-10%!
