summer upcharge for buffets?

Any idea when these are this summer? We will be there from July 11th to Aug. 1st and would like to schedule our ADRs. Also, do they upcharge the menu items as well, or is it usually just the buffets? TIA

and last I haven't seen an official range of dates. They have been increasing the dining plan cost for certain dates that correspond to the previous upcharge dates. I would infer from the DDP upcharge that 6/3-8/13 will have the higher dining rates.

They have not released the dates when the upcharge is in effect. As such, I would budget WITH the upcharge so that you will be prepared. The upcharge is only on buffets and all you can eat locations.

I called Disney Dining Monday afternoon for some prices and the CM I spoke with said the summer surcharge went into effect June 11. We will be there June 2-13 so I didn't ask when the ending date was.

Disney doesn't publish the dates anymore but we had some posters uncover info that they probably track the same dates that the dining plan is in peak pricing. This summer that will be June 3 - August 13. The surcharge ($4 per adult and $2 per child) applies only at fixed-price restaurants, the kind where you pay one price per person (and only at places where the entire restaurant is fixed price, not at places like Whispering Canyon that are a la carte with an all you can eat option)

All meals went up by $2.00-$3.00 in January for price increase. Hopefully this will give you an idea of what you will be expected to pay. Some very high prices in there for dinner character buffets!

As a tip to all, you can always figure out the exact dates of when surcharge starts, by making a dummy online ADR for CRT. Because it requires payment info, it gives price in full.

You can be assured that surcharge dates will closely coincide with the previous year, so with that mind, use a few different dates, and you can then compare prices, and you'll get your surcharge dates.
