Summer room discount

Ok, so I am new to booking a Disney trip and did not know they run out of rooms at the discounted rate. I had looked at ASMu for a while and was now ready to order and the website shows no rooms left for the exact dates I want. The preferred rate is available if I choose to move it up a day. Or I could go with AS Sports, but really don't want that since we are not at all sport people.

So...is there any chance that if I call in that they will still have a few rooms left? Or would they bump it the day earlier that I want since the rest of the week is available. I can get it to bring up standard rates so I know that it's not completely full.

I had no idea the rooms only had so many to get a rate or I would've decided sooner! I am on a very tight budget so raising the rate $20 a night for 6 nights would end up meaning I have to take a day off the trip. I SO wish I had known!

Please tell me there is still some hope for a great rate!

There is still hope, but calling in isn't going to be helpful. The thing to do is to book your best alternative so you have something, then keep checking back for your first choice. People change and cancel all the time, and if you keep looking, chances are good what you want will come up again.. Sports is actually the same basic hotel, just with massive sports equipment decorations instead of music-themed decorations. There's really not much that's sports-oriented; it's just a few enormous footballs and so forth. You can walk over to Music or Movies and look at their decorations if you like.

You might also want to check Pop Century. The rates are often very similar, the resort is newer, and it has a slightly lower tax rate from being in a different county, which sometimes can make a small difference.

Well, I put a hold on Sports, but really wish I had known about using the hold before. I will just keep checking...at least I have something held for now. I know we will all be bummed if it ends up being sports tho. Can't do Pop because we want to take a tour bus to KSC & that leaves from ASMu so it's less complicated to just stay at an All Star.

I also found out they have a preferred room for a day later travel, but will cost me $106 more. I have that held also. So now at least we could stay where we want. Just not sure if it's worth $106 more even if it is a preferred room. It puts us back on a Sunday so our last park day would be Sat.

Cab from Pop to ASMu would be less than $10 and take about 5 minutes (plus maybe 10 minutes to get a cab if there's not one waiting). If you like Pop, I'd add it to your list to look at. AoA as well. And heck, maybe an off-site resort or Downtown Disney resort.

OMG!!! I had the resort & dates up on my phone browser & refreshed it this morning....& there it was....my room & dates available again!!! Wooooohooooo!

So I took the holds off my other possibilities and booked it! Feeling like it's my lucky day!
