We will be in Orlando end of July 2006 and I have been looking inot staying on-site Universal for one night to have the FOTL perk for 2 days. It is myself, wife, and 3 boys 15, 14, and 10, the cheapest rate I have gotten and/or found was 229.00 directly from Universal. My question is, are ther discounts that will come up or if I buy an Entertainment book would it be worth it, or is that the best price, it was the Royal Pacific, garden view room, checking in July 26 for one night. Any help to save alittle money would be appreciated, first time to Universal. I am not in military or belong to any clubs. Thank you.

The best rate I have found in the same timeframe is $183 with a AAA discount. There are no more Entertainment rates. If you can get a FanClub card from your employer or credit union, that rate is $206. These rates are for a standard view room at the RPR.

Definately check the AAA rates. Buy a AAA membership if you do not have and the $$ work out to make it worth while. I have a AAA rate of $231 for PBH for July 6-12. My recall is that RPR was well under $200 for the same dates.

We're going July 13-17, and have opted to do the stay and play rate thru univacations. Also, when I call loews directly looking for a better deal. I get 4 nights for $ 1021.00, which is the same room rate as for the vacation package. Would it be accurate to divide this amount by 4 nights to get a rate ? I'm just hoping that we're getting the best deal.

If you book off of universal vacations the terms are quite different that booking a room only. There are penalties for changes when you book thru universal vacations. I have found it best to book room only thru the hotel directly or the loews website. As for pricing, book the room you want now and call the hotel with any discounts that become available prior to your stay.
