Summer Packing List and Tips in General HELP!!!!

Hello!

My family has been to Disney about four times but have never been during the summer or even months surronding the summer. Last trip we packed WAYY too much bringing seven suticases with each, each having a carry on, and on our way back shippping objects back and leaving with eight bags the maximum amount for four people. We really are not sure what to bring.
Packing Secrets, Tips, and Advice would all be appriecated

Crazy or not, we always go during the summer time, August. People say we are crazy, but when we get those Hazy, Hot and Humid days, sometimes it is cooler in FL. For your packing:

1. Lots of shorts, for the ladies, skorts
2. Lots of light colored shirts, figure 2-3 a day (the sun will reflect of them, darker shirts absorb the heat)
3. Pletty of sunscreen
4. Sandals and sneakers
5.We are trying this, this year. We are actually going to do laundry so we can pack lighter.
6. We use a fanny pack for DW and I carry a backpack for ponchos, ice, water and snacks. I carry a laptop at work all the time and lugging a backpack is no big deal. Plus I loaded it up with ice to keep cool.
7. Don't forget bathing suits 2-3
8. We also had a very lightly packed suitcase on the way down, for the return trip home, for new stuff

I was just starting this yesterday:

1) Sunscreen
2) H20 sprayer to keep cool through the parks
3) Mini fans
4) Sunglasses
5) Sunhat
6) Poncho's for the downpours
7) Order some water to send down
8) Cool light clothing
9) Bathing suits
10) I brought a white sheet to drape over the babys stroller to shade more from the sun
11) A cloth type thing that you can wet if you want to cool down, or for the kids/baby (If you have?)

8 - Good Walking shoes
9 - Sunscreen
10 - If you have delicate feet, water shoes for the pool and/or waterparks
11 - Sunscreen
12 - light colored tops
13 - Sunscreen
14 - ponchos or other wet-weather gear
and, in case I might have forgotton - SUNSCREEN.

You should have much less bulk this time, I doubt I'd even pack any pants or jeans. Shorts and tees take up much less room! We bring a fold up hamper/laundry bag and put our dirty clothes in that. It saves a lot of mess in the room and makes it easy to do laundry once or twice. Just doing it once can half the stuff you need to pack!

I never thought about bringing a fold up hamper for dirty clothes!!! What a great idea!! I was planning to wash at least once during our trip - and it would be so easy to carry the clothes to and from the laundry room!!

I totally agree with all the others - just bring shorts and tshirts!! Unless you are planning some fancy dinners - then you could just bring a pair of capris and a nice(r) shirt!
