I mean - the topic basically says it all, but I'll offer a bit more.
The cookies at Summer House on the Lake are better than any "cookie" at Gideon's, there I said it. First off - Gideon's doesn't actually serve cookies - they are best could be described as candy bars, or candy lumps? But what they are selling aren't cookies. The ratio of cookie batter to the "stuff" of whatever is in your choice at Gideon's is, well, there isn't a lot of cookie dough in there. Now - you might still like em - but they aren't really cookies. Anymore than a snickers is "peanuts" or a poptart is a "fruit pastry". Summer House on the Lake though - those are fricken cookies, and they are DAMN GOOD cookies. The double chocolate cloud is, well its a chocolate cloud, but its a COOKIE. The salted chocolate chip manages to be crispy and salty on the outside, and chewy and sweet all through the inside. The M&M has a ton of M&Ms in it, but its still clearly a cookie, and far more cookie than M&M's so you can TASTE cookie.
This is my hot take - we loved Summer House on the Lake.
