LOL Jackie - we have a half day tomorrow then that's it for 9 weeks :scared1: thankfully we'll be spending 4 of those weeks in Florida otherwise I'd be demented

it is late this year for us ,
I'm one of the few mothers that love the school holidays
no homework , no lunches to make and no up early

That's very early to break up for the summer. My DD's last day of school isn't until 24th July!

Ours don't break up until the 24th, either.

I'd give anything for it to be the 6th or 13th. I'm fit to drop!

mine have another 3 weeks yet- they only get 6 weeks off as they are doing this 6 term a year thingy. ;)

eldest fineshed collage(if you call 3 +1/2 days a week)and now off untill he starts uni in sept.At least he has a sat job a fri job.and he had the sence to phone up sat job for extra work during the week.but you still got to love them
Paulh

Fingers crossed the weather behaves and you don't have the power cuts we've just had in Sheffield...........;)

DD doesn't break up until the 20th July so I'm hoping the extreme weather conditions will have calmed down by then :goodvibes

I did give a cheer yesterday when I made my last lunch :cheer2: I also love the freedom of the summer holidays but you need some decent weather to really make them special - here's hoping then at least I could get some :laundy: done :rotfl:

We break up on the 20th at the school i work at, i wish it was this week im exhausted! I've got a residential to do overnight in the final week to.

....and flights would be a lot cheaper as well.

Oh, no kidding! It drives me nuts that the parents just drag their kids out of school for two weeks around this time, leaving the staff to deal with bringing them up to speed when they get back, while we have to wait until the end of term when prices are sky high. I suppose it must be because teachers are paid so much!:lmao:

Let's hope we finally get some sunshine now that the kids are starting to break up!

I work in a Continuing Education department of the local university and get driven demented at this time of year by people saying "you won't be open through August will you?" and me having to grit my teeth and tell them "yes, we are open all year round". At least this year I have a week in the Big Apple to look forward to :yay:
