Summer Discounts for Deluxe/Club Rooms?

Does anyone know if the new summer discounts work for room only reservations at deluxe resorts on the club level? I called yesterday evening, and the cm didn't seem to know what I was asking. When I explained, she rather quickly said that it wouldn't work for deluxes and club level, but I'm not sure she really checked. I thought I'd try again, but should be prepared with a little more information first! Thanks, Julia

I know that I saw a deluxe room come up at WL online when I looked. Try looking online before you call again.

I already have reservations (split stay at two resorts), so I guess I can't make any other one! Is there any way that I can find out online, but not actually make another reservation?

Yes, you can check the WDW website for club level under the room only offer.

You have to go to the WDW website and find the "Special Offers" - one easy place to find that is to click on the "Tickets and Reservations" on the right side middle just down from the top (on top of where it shows "Dining Finder") and after you click there, then on the next page click on the "Special Offers" on the left side. OR go to the right side bottom of the home webpage and click on the "Great Resort Offers".

Go to and click on the "Find the Best Fit For Your Family" - I know it only talks about Values and Moderates, but Deluxes come up too Scroll down and click on the "Get Started", then on the next page input the dates, number of people, etc. You notice it will say at the top:

August to September Room Only Offer
Enjoy this special Room Only offer, available at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels most dates between July 29 - September 29, 2007.
This offer must be booked by July 28, 2007.
Please provide the information below to begin reserving your Walt Disney World vacation!

Sometimes rooms show up here and not when you call in, and vice versa, so if you see something you like you might have to do it one way or the other.

Thank you for checking for me--that was very kind of you! I've managed to get to that page, unfortunately, nothing is coming up for the resorts/dates I already have reserved. Would it be worthwhile to check every morning like with a regular reservation? And if something turns up, should I book it online right away and then call CRO to cancel the original reservation and make sure the deposits get correctly credited? I appreciate your expertise.........Julia

Well, since I'm such a deal searcher for my own ressies if it was me, I'd check both ways (check online, then call) probably at least 3 times a day - morning, noon and night! Not that it would help make availability magically appear, but I'd feel better about it

If it shows up online, call ASAP and have them change your booking over, tell them you want to modify your booking to the rates you have found online - that way your deposit will stay with the "modified" booking.

If they say they don't see the availability that you're seeing online, tell them that you are going to have to cancel with them and rebook online, and hopefully all of the sudden they will be able to "grab" the online deal by putting you on hold and talking to ???? Supervisor, Guest Services, some big cheese in reservation department? I don't know who they go to, but it's happened to me before - somehow they get the online rates applied to your ressie. Maybe a reservation CM here on the DIS will help explain just how that works

If they still can't grab it for you, go ahead and book online right then and make sure everything is A OK before cancelling your other res. Just don't let a deal slip away from you!

Any $$$ coming back to you from a modified booking will go back on your credit card, usually pretty quickly - I think the last time I switched a ressie when a FL Res rate came out, the credit for the difference was back on my card within a day.
