For us, the UOC we got a few weeks ago is a better deal...but I'm sure my kids would love the special edition Magic Bands that come with this deal!

AWESOME! Thanks for the heads up!! I'm not only saving a couple hundred dollars, I was able to change to a King room at CBR!!

Not necessarily thrilled that the band looks to be Star Wars themed (SO many shades of NOT A FAN), but I've got old bands I can use for saving a couple hundred dollars!!)

Out of curiosity I went to the "customize Magic Band" page to see if we can "opt out" of the special band, and it looks like we can!! It still has my purple one selected, and when I went to the page to make changes, the Awaken Summer was an OPTION but so were the colors. So it looks like we're in luck!!

(I'll definitely keep an eye on it, and if I have to, I'll call - but not today when the discounts have JUST come out. I may call in a few days anyway just to see if they need to mark my reservation "wants purple band and not special one" or if my not selecting it on the customization page will suffice.)

I called this morning to change my reservation since it wasn't letting me do it online, and the woman I spoke to said the magic bands would default to the special edition bands, but we could switch back to regular bands if we want. I am VERY please with this sale, it is saving me over $900 US which is more like $1200 CDN.

Dang. We're planning on going from 8/24 for 5 nights, but it looks like the offer cuts of on 8/25. Do they usually eventually release the fall offers for 8/25 onwards?

We saved a bit more than $900 on our summer trip. Very happy, and pleasantly surprised how easy it was to edit our reservation online. Good job, Disney tech.

I thought it was cleverly worded on Disney's part. I first dismissed it because I had room only and thought this was just a package. However the system let me process my change reservation link with this promotion!

I was able to change my reservation online to get the Awaken Summer promotion very easily, but had to call too because they did not have my flight information for MDE (even though I had already called a couple of months ago and gave them the info.) Anyway, I asked about the special magic band and was told that if I wanted to get it I would have to go into the customize section and request it. Otherwise, my original selection would be mailed to me. So, basically I was told was the default was a plain color, not the special band. You have to specifically modify your MB selection to get the special band.

Yeah, for some reason it's not remembering my flight info either. Tried calling during my lunch, but have to go and get the kids from lunch now. I've got a couple of hours I can hold after school though. I'll not be super happy if the CM I speak with says "Oh, I have this...has it changed?" though I do want to change my requests now that I've changed to a king room.

We prefer to book room only and buy tickets - no package. I already have my tickets, but was waiting for summer room discounts. If I book the room under this summer awakens deal, does it automatically turn it into a package once I link my tickets? I am confused by the wording of buying tickets and making it a "package upgrade". I just want the room discount and to link the tickets I already bought - not a package...
