We have a trip planned for June 23rd-July 9th 2014. This is our first trip during the summer months. I know it will be HOT!! We're from South Louisiana so we already know about southern summer heat so we are prepared for that. I'm not prepared for the crowds! I know it will be busy, but are we talking President's week busy or Christmas week busy? We plan on being at the parks for RD until noon and then maybe going back at night. Any tips for surviving the crowds in the sweltering heat? Thanks

You've got it right! We always go in June/July/Aug so alway hit the heat!! Parks early and get loads done. Then either an ADR or back to hotel for lunch. Chill out round the pool or a nice sleep then back to the parks for the evening.

Always works for us and we go exactly the same time as you this year. Morning EMH and afternoon sleeps are the secret - have fun!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The crowds will lean more towards Christmas week busy, especially on and around July 4th. I believe that July is considered one of the (if not the) busiest month of the year because of summer vacations and South American tour groups.

Best advice is to RD and get as much done as you can before the crowds roll in. Schedule FP+ for the afternoon or evening in order to avoid long stand-by waits during peak hours. Stay hydrated! Seriously, make water your new best friend.

As a teacher, this is our usual vacation time at WDW. The previous posters are right on! We go at RD with a stand by ride plan, catch a ride a second or third time if possible, then go back to the hotel for a nap &/or pool time. We grab an early dinner before the rush, then back to an evening park. I have not done FP+, but it seems logical to use them during the evening hours. At night, we may pick a ride that has an air conditioned line and just wait it out. Remember that afternoon showers usually occur during this time, but they do not seem to last more than a few hours.

We we're thinking of doing the parks the first week and using the second week for the water parks, golf, and sightseeing. I know it will be busier the weekend of July 4th
