Summer Craft ideas for kids?

I am already trying to find things to keep ds busy this summer! Does anyone have any good craft ideas or craft sites for kids? I would love some ideas for keeping an 8 year old occupied this summer???

familyfun.com has a lot of activities for kids.Another site I used to check a lot was kidsdomain.com, I haven't been on it lately, but it used to have a lot of ideas and links to other sites.

Family fun Mag always has some great ideas.
Also if you have a Mike's near you, you should check them out. During the summer they have lots of kid activities and crafts for them.
some are free or a small fee.

We do the stepping stones. Which is always fun.
You could help them start scrap booking if you are interested in it. Great family activity.

I have found lots of ideas.

Sculpey clay is fun to. You bake it and can make some really neat things.
No sew pillows. Do a search on here to find the directions.
Also if you find some good craft ideas you can have her get an early start on Christmas presents.

When my stepson was either 7 or 8, we would go to the beach to collect shells and sand and make collages and shell animals. I would give him some markers and he would use his imagination on what types of animals he thought it looked like and he would draw on them.

I wanted to teach him about his culture and about my culture, so we did a week each teaching him about the language, food, different events...and he learned alot from that.

We also did summer things such as making windstocks, windchimes, bird feeders, planted seeds and put together a garden together....

Thanks for the great ideas! We do family fun, I get the weekend crafts e-mail! Also I tried the kinderart site and it was great too! Does anyone have any other kids sites they like? Educational would be great also! Thanks!
