Does anyone have any suggestions for summer sleepaway camps in the southeast?
Here's the background. My stepson went to a week long sleepaway camp for the first time last summer and loved. He's begging to go back there. It was the first year his mom even considered letting him go to sleepaway camp, which is why we chose one that was only a week long.
My husband really wants him to get a longer camp experience and is convinced he will love another camp as well. But DSS is set on going back to the same camp. It's Camp High Harbor in North Georgia.
We just realized that sign-up for next summer is in under a month! However, we want to present some additional options to his mom, to allow him to have a longer camp experience as well.
I used to go to the sister camp of Camp Seagull in NC. I think I remember someone mentioning that one on these boards before. I know DSS would adore that camp, however, they only have 4 week sessions and his mom would never go for him being gone for 5 weeks during the summer. So, we are trying to find a camp of the same caliber (as either Seagull or High Harbor) that has 2 or 3 week sessions. (He could go to multiple weeks of High Harbor, but its just not the same when most of your bunk changes each week)
Any suggestions?
