Summer blackout days lifted for case members?

Could someone weigh in on how likely this will “pack the park”...? I’ll be watching today, of course, but we arrive Thursday and now wondering if our well-planned trip is shot? Do most CMs bring 3-4 guests regularly?
Shouldn't make a big difference. CMs have different levels of admission. My friend's dad who works there gets tickets for a particular day and his tickets work for that day only. While my daughter's friend was allowed to bring in friends, but it capped out after so many visits. It wasn't a lot of visits.

At least the CMs that I am aware of have never been able to bring 3-4 guests on a regular basis. They had a hard limit on how often they could do that.

No, most CMs have blue main gates and have limits in place and with last minute lifts it will be busier than yesterday but not insane.

I know someone that doesn’t have the 16 limit but they work in Burbank.

Totally selfish but I know others with trips coming within the next month are with me here. Please Disney, don't jump the gun and allow all AP's in until after my trip, July 13th. Thank you!! :D

Or until after my trip which ends on 7/19! I am local, but I have a pass that allows all days, so I would be very disappointed to see others with low passes admitted. We like going on the summer black out dates as we find them to be quieter and nicer for the most part.

Sorry to add more rain to this parade but ROTR is rumored to open sometime in Sept so that should finally also bring the SW focused crowds.

I’ll totally deal with a busy park for ROTR to be open!! Where have you heard the rumors? I would think the black out calendar might give away some hints if that was true, I assume they would black out that period for sure...

Oof. I hadn’t even considered the position of locals who bought the higher passes for this purpose, in your shoes I’d be downright mad to see an unblocking of lower level APs. What a balancing act for Disney all this is...

From the Rumors and News side of the DIS here. Just a rumor at this stage.

ETA: blockout calendars are developed like a year out. Disney didn’t expect ROTR wouldn’t open with SWGE when they put together the current calendar so I wouldn’t look at blocks to mean anything for ROTR.

Also hoping they don’t mess with the black out calendars set for APs!

We always come in the first week of August when there’s that nice lull of some schools starting up again but AP block outs still on.

But then again I’ve prepared myself since we decided this trip for insanity because of SWGE maybe it’s best to expect the worst and be surprised if it’s the best?

I will be beyond pissed if they unblock Deluxe as I upgraded my son from Deluxe to Signature solely because Deluxe was blocked from DL for the summer. Honestly I would fight for a downgrade and refund if they do this.

I would imagine Disney would be aware of how changing the block out calendars would cause well deserved frustrations for higher tier passes.

Hopefully they take that into consideration and just release another summer promo instead of messing with the AP calendars?! We can hope.

I would rather just take a summer promo, or even like I mentioned before, let passholders bring people like last year. However they can only bring them to the park they are valid on (that way people with Deluxe don't feel screwed like I'm sure they do already).

Right. To me this would be a huge PR issue. Leave the passes blocked. Let people who paid full price for summer tickets and higher prices for AP’s enjoy the park.

Disney takes a lot of more leeway with the cm passes they have in the past last minute blocked them out and/or lifted the blocks on these passes.

They unblocked APs last year! I really would not be surprised to see them open up a week or two for Deluxe if crowds don’t start showing up. It’s not like they’re going to unblock the whole summer, but some scattered days or a week here or there? They’ve set a precedent, and honestly, it would be warranted with the parks so dead.

This wouldn’t bother me in my situation, but unblocking Deluxe for the whole summer would make me pretty ticked as it would mean that I unnecessarily spent hundreds of dollar upgrading my son.

I will be furious and make it known. We upgraded our kids and my husband to the Signature pass LAST AUGUST because of the Deluxe summer DL blockouts. If they lift them while we still have 2 months of payments remaining on those more expensive passes, I am going to complain.

Same feeling here. When deciding on which pass this year, knew nephew would be here in August, so choose Signature solely because of summer blockouts. I will be so upset if they lift Deluxe for August.

Or how about they do unblock the Ap’s a little because they already screwed us by taking away a ton more days and also raising the cost! Two years ago, I could go most Sundays and halfway into June. Last year, they took away half my Sundays in Oct, Dec and April. This year, they’ve taken them all away and took away all of June. And the price has been raised. For a pass no one else can buy anymore. It’s greedy crap. Now they need to get more people in, so throw us a bone! Not asking for all of the summer, but an extra couple days would be nice.

IMHO, I think unblocking AP's would really be a mess because it is terribly unfair to those who upgraded. Unblocking CM's I would imagine is pretty easy, doesn't cost them anything, and not a PR disaster.

Full rack rate rooms are just sitting there not getting booked. That is a lot of revenue they are losing. People who stay onsite don't leave ... therefore generating more food/drink sales too. Bring back discounted rooms or a package deal!
