Summer Bay Resort

Has anyone stayed at Summer Bay Resort? What is it like, would you recommend it?

We had friends stay there on our last two trips, both said it was nice enough, but a long trip to Disney. Both said they would only stay there again if they weren't doing Disney much. But it was clean, good size rooms, etc. no issues.

We stayed there about 7 yrs ago. I remember the rooms were nice but it was far to Disney. Our boys LOVED the interactive splash pad they had there....they almost didn't want to go to the parks

Stayed there for my honeymoon in 2007. It was a very nice resort. They do have shuttles that can take you to the parks if you don't have a rental car.(We didn't and wished we would have.) It was not as close to Disney as we would have liked. The room was clean and there was plenty to do on site. There was putt-putt golf, nice pools, and a lake area where you could rent boats to do water activities.

We stayed there last week when we visited my cousin. Gorgeous resort, but it is about 20+ minutes away from Disney. Actually, we liked it better because it is closer to home (we live near Tampa). GPS said to exit 55, which is the Clermont exit. Exits to Disney start at 62 which gives it a little more perspective.

The pool that we stayed at the most was heated and is zero entry. My cousin said that the kids pool is a lot colder.

Thank you for all of the replies, we have decided to stay at Bonnet Creek so we are closer to Disney.
