Any Disneyland regulars have any insight as to which month is best in the summer? We do Florida regularly in the summer so heat isn't an issue. We are limited to summer break as hubby is a teacher, so end of June to mid-august is our window. Is there a best time to go?

Can get pretty hot in August but we've had really good luck going in July. If it was me I'd try to plan on going early to mid July, a least a bit after the 4th holiday to try to miss those crowds/travelers.

Went 4th of July weekend two years ago, was perfect, very light crowds due to MKs being blocked. Went mid July this year, was WAY TOO HOT,🥵 But I just napped during afternoon and closed the parks instead.

I like to go in July for Disneyland's birthday (17th). I've thought it very nice--generally not too crowded, and though weather can be kind of hot, it's usually fine for me (my town is much hotter in July). Also, there aren't a lot of "things" happening that would draw big crowds.

CA is known for its “perfect” weather. Historically weather in July and August is similar - mid-80s in the day, dropping to mid-60s at night. No rain - “summer sizzle means no drizzle.”

Obviously climate change is real and everywhere and it’s gotten really, really hot some days in recent years. Can’t predict the weather unfortunately.

July is an excellent month to go to Disneyland. It's my preferred month having gone for over 30 years during this, and other, times of year. The weather in SoCal is milder in July than Aug-Oct. The weather is actually hotter in the early fall in coastal CA than the early summer. This is caused, in part, by the temperature difference between the cool ocean waters and the hot interior deserts/valleys of CA which causes "fog" or the "marine layer" in the early parts of summer. The ocean temperatures warm during July and the marine layer typically starts to become less prevalent in July and certainly much less so by August. What this means in practice is that the early morning cloud cover during the earlier parts of summer moderates temperatures - often keeping them in the 70's and 80's for highs. This doesn't mean there won't be hot days, or that it can't vary, but this is a typical pattern in SoCal - fog early in the summer with milder temperatures, with hotter temps in later summer/early fall (this has been a pattern for a long time, not just recently). Also, the humidity in SoCal is nothing like the eastern part of the US or Florida. Some on here will tell you it is "humid" at times in Anaheim, which might be true by CA standards, but it is nothing like the southern, eastern, or midwestern US during mid-summer. Overall, SoCal has a "dry" type of heat in comparison to Orlando. One other positive attribute about July is that rain is very rare to non-existent. Last year, Anaheim had a bizarre series of events where remnants of a hurricane passed through in August and some other tropical showers in September; however, most of the time you can count on no rain during the middle of summer (I believe this was only the second time a tropical system passed through SoCal in the past 100 years). Not having to worry about rain makes planning a lot easier.

Other benefits of July, as others have noted, is crowds. Contrary to many people's perceptions, July is actually less crowded than other times of the year. This is largely due to Magic Key's (Disneyland's annual passes) being fully blocked all summer at the lowest two levels of passes, and the third level being blocked most Saturdays and holidays (such as all of July 4th weekend). On top of this, day ticket prices are higher during summer and consistently higher even on weekdays. This does not mean it isn't crowded - it absolutely is - but it is relatively "less" crowded than other times of the year. Couple the more manageable crowds with maximum ride uptime (i.e. limited refurbs), max entertainment (i.e. fireworks nightly, Fantasmic nightly, World of Color nightly, parades daily), max shows, max operating hours (8-Midnight for DL, 8-10 DCA). This all makes July an excellent month to go.

IMO, late June is the best time to go. You still (likely) will get that lovely cloudy weather from June, and by late June, all of the Grad Nite's will have cleared the calendar.

July/August just become oppressively hot, but if you stay on-site/near-site and stay out of the max heat of the day, summer nights in the park are pretty nice (no sun, still 70-80 degrees).

Also, summer has turned into one of the least crowded seasons in the parks (compared to October and Holiday time).

This is more true of the coastal communities.

Consider this past July: (per Accuweather)
- it reached 88F or higher 18 times in Anaheim (roughly the same in Los Angeles).
- it never reached 88F in Irvine.
- the Northern Orange County coastal communities hit 80F (and literally 80 on the nose) just once or twice whereas the South communities didn't make it past the 70s.
