Summer 2024 Direct Incentives

Thanks. I do bank at Chase. I’m seriously shocked that neither Chase nor Disney has targeted me for either a credit or debit offer despite me dropping what has to be approaching 6 figures between direct points and Disney vacations over the past 24 months.

Maybe they don’t want to finance all my addonitis at 0%. 🤪
Same!! Not once - it’s bizarre.

I guess I need to dig deep and shell out for a Disney Visa to complete my collection of Disney memberships…maybe D23 also. Trying to remember what else is left on that checklist of affiliations they always add at the end of every survey.
If you don’t at least have the Free D23 membership, it’s occasionally good for random things. The D23 intro offer for Disney+ way back when was smokin’.

The no annual fee credit card and debit card both also get you in.

If you don’t bank with chase for the debit Id probably get the $49 annual fee card to get the $300 bonus and downgrade to the no annual fee card in a year. You’ll also get the easy 2% cashback at the parks for food etc for a year, if you aren’t into doing the gift card huss

We just got our contract set up for Dec. We are doing MB for 2023 points, and then will receive new points for 2024 in Dec. We have asked our guide if we can switch to Oct UY and are waiting for a response, but it shouldn't change anything else about the points.
May I ask when you setup your contract? I have a meeting setup for Monday with my guide before I check out from SSR.

I set up my contract Tuesday (started before new incentives and finalized after rewriting to take advantage of new incentives). I asked for an August UY and got one. Of course, one of the three contracts I'm buying is a fixed week in September, so that probably helped a little. Still, I didn't receive any pushback at all, even though my guide said he needed to ask for approval.

We had the no annual fee version. I received an upgrade offer with $300 bonus with a minimum spend for the $49 card right before we added on at RIV 😁 Got lots of Disney Dollars for MF’s. Also have a 3 month (I think) $14.99 Disney+ bundle credit if you pay with that card. More than paid for itself.

Oooh, good to know. A few years back, we pulled the trigger on a DCL cruise when our $10/mo Disney+ membership got us like a 30% cruise discount…pretty sure D+ is going to pay for itself for another 5-10 years. 🤪

Yep, got the email today.
I notice the fine print only mentions being a cardholder and does not expressly indicate you have to put any portion of the purchase on your card.

Disney Visa Additional Credit Offer: Offer requires new Purchasers or Members to be a current Disney Visa Cardmember and participate in a Resort sales tour, either telephonically, online or in person (“Tour”), and buy an ownership interest of at least 150 Vacation Points in AULANI, Disney Vacation Club® Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai‘i, Disney’s Riviera Resort, The Villas at Disneyland® Hotel or The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club® Resort. Valid for existing Disney Visa cardholders. All Tours must be completed by August 12, 2024 when the offer expires. If Tour occurs on or after August 6, 2024, offer expires 7 days after Tour. Savings amount is a credit off the purchase price and does not represent any portion of the minimum down payment required of at least 10%, depending on qualified financing. Prices do not include one-time closing costs. Must be a legal resident of one of the fifty (50) United States or Washington, D.C. Offer may be extended, modified or withdrawn at any time without notice. Void where prohibited. Additional restrictions and terms may apply.

My guide confirmed he put in for my Disney Visa $1000 modification and it was approved today. No need to put money on the Visa itself. Worth a quick hard pull on my credit this week to save $1K! He also re-confirmed that if anything changes or I change my mind on contract type, resort, number of points, etc between now and closure (Sept. 14) we can modify at any point.

Thanks to all who posted about it!

Quick edit - we ended up having to resign the DocuSign which makes sense given the new settlement statement, but not a big deal - took all of two minutes.

I don’t know when they last hard pulled but the same company hard pulling twice in 30 days only counts against your score as 1 pull. Something I actually learned here on the budget board!

Yes, that's right! We paid cash for this contract so no hard pull, but good point for anyone financing!

I haven't heard from my guide since Monday and I'm getting antsy 😩

I'd follow up! My guide mentioned he was off Tues/Wed and today was very busy, so my guess is they are just getting caught up with the new incentives dropping/Disney Visa promo.

Oh yeah, I emailed Tuesday about the Visa thing and tried calling twice yesterday but got voicemail, so hoping he's just out for a couple days and back soon. I'm not too worried about getting our contract straightened out, but I'm anxious to get my Welcome Home trip booked and didn't want to do that before the UY was settled in case that changes anything.

🤭 He got back to me today! 😊 I'm a nervous Nelly for no reason, always.

Final total with the extra Visa bump came to for 3 contracts/300 pts for a brand new member at RIV came to $162/pt after MB, $167.56pp including closing costs. I feel pretty good about that! Waiting for our new contract paperwork to come through and reflect the OCT UY (which wasn't a problem to get) before I call to book our Welcome Home trip but I'm so excited!

Is there any world in which it would be financially beneficial to quickly buy a resale contract for 5k and then buy direct with the increased incentives for current members?

Anyone try that? I think the limiting factor would be the visa credit ending in August, not sure how long a resale contract takes to go through….
