Going to Disney with wife and kids (5 and 2) 1st week of January. Wife wants a suites hotel so we have plenty of space. We can get great deal on Hawthorn with AMEX points. Would you stay here or another suites hotel??

I stay at the one on Canada Avenue last year and it was good. It was clean and had a good breakfast. There is plenty of restaurants to walk to.

I'm booked at the one on Canada Avenue for a 2 bedroom suite the last week of January.

Have stayed at both Lake Beuna Vista and the Westwood Boulevard Hawthorn (bottom of I-Drive near Seaworld). LBV a couple of years ago, it was awesome. Very clean, friendly staff, good free breakfast, manager social nights with free wine, beer and snacks. Love it.

Fast forward two years later, only a month ago. We trusted the Hawthorn name but wanted to be more in the middle of things. The staff were quite surly apart from a couple. The hotel needs a lot of updating, the kitchen area was tiny compared to the LBV one, the furniture quite old, there were no managers nights (although they are advertised on their website., the hallways were dark and in some places quite dirty, most of the sunbeds round the pool had slats missing and needing throwing away. Dont get me wrong it was okay for the $ (I hear it is quite cheap, although it wasnt that cheap from the UK), and we did throughly enjoy our stay there.

If I were considering on of these two Hawthorns again, it would definately
be the LBV, maybe we were spoilt there, but we loved it, and the Seaworld one just didnt measure up at all. I dont think I would actually stay there again, although the location is fantastic. It is near enough to everything, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.

If anyone has any review on the Canadian Avenue Hawthorn, I would be interested to know as we are now considering our next trip and I hear this is ideally located to Universal, which would be our ideal spot next visit.

We just got back from a 2 nt. stay at the LBV Hawthorn Suites. We have no complaints, other than the kitchen didn't have a lot of utensils. I liked the bathroom set up, with 2 doors leading into the sink area (from the bedroom or kitchen), and then the toilet and shower behind another door. Two TV's worked out nicely with our family of 4. The front desk staff were very nice, they were able to get us the room next to my my sister's, even though we hadn't requested it ahead of time. We didn't have time for the afternoon snacks they offer, but many in our group took advantage of the breakfast. I did notice that the only fresh fruit offered was bananas - I would have liked to see apples or a fresh fruit cup instead. The location on Palm Parkway was great, just about a 3 minute drive to Downtown Disney. The pool area was very nice, we had it to ourselves one afternoon. I did notice a bar-b-q grill in this area, also. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

You would like this Hawthorn it was clean and had plenty of food for breakfast. The afternoon snacks was light meals. I was please with this location because it was excellent for US and IOA.

I am planning to stay there next year myself.
