We are a family of 5, with the youngest being a baby. The primary reason that we bought DVC was to get a 1 or 2 BR villa so that we can sleep in a separate room from our kiddies.

We are considering going to USF/IOA but don't want to give up a second room. I can't find any really good discounts for our time-period so two room would be over $350/night. Ouch! It seems that staying on-site is the best option since we will get to go to the front of the lines.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm a newbie to Universal, so fire away!

Some of the on site hotels have Kid's suites. Look into pricing those. Call the hotels. Ask if they have Entertainment rates available for you dates. If so, go to www.entertainment.com and order a book. The 2003 book expires Nov. 1, 2003, so if you're going after that, wait for the new books to come out in August, but book your room now. If no entertainment rates are available, ask about AAA rates and Fan Club rates. A couple people on these boards are offering Fan Club cards.

I just booked the Kid Suite at PBH for $321/nite for September (2 nites) using the fan club rate (entertainment rate doesn't discount suites) - it works out to 30% off of rack. I thought this was the best option we are a family of 4 including 1 baby when we go (my dd will be 14 mos.) - my dd will be very excited to share a room with ther db

btw - Loews hotels were rated the #1 hotel for kids in child magazine.

We just got back Tuesday. We did four nights DVC at the BCV, then 4 at the Hard Rock. The first two nights at the HRH, we had two studios for 169 per night (Fan club or AP rate not sure). The next two nights we used our Loews platinum card to upgrade to two kids suites per night at 195 each per night. It was 160 AP rate plus a 35 dollar upgrade (loews card), for the suite. The rooms were very nice, not as great as the two bedrooms of DVC, but still very nice, and for under $200, we got a great deal. Good luck.
