I was looking into possibly getting a category 2/3 for the 2010 sailings (more specifically the Mediterranean IF they go there). I know I am supposed to fax in a request to
DCL but I had a couple of quick questions.
1 - is it to late for 2010 to fax in the requests in terms of wait listed (i.e. will there already be "gobs" of folks who have already put their requests in)?
2 - *IF* the request does come through how does the payment work - do we pay it all up front or do we pay a portion? Is there any cancellation fee?
TIA - Anjelica
You or TA would have to fax inventory control at DCL, with your preference of room Cat, number of people and approx date of the cruise, so they know your preference.
You do not pay anything now, but if you are going on a cruise soon it might be best to book a phantom cruise for 2009 that you can transfer on to 2010, when those cruises are released, and hopefully get the current OBC, and discount etc.
On release you would have to pay the Suite deposit pp, and that has non refundable, and DCL might if you are accepted on a wait list, contact you a few days before the release date to check your details and offer you a room.
At this time nothing has been confirmed at all re 2010, but people expect the Magic to be out of the Caribbean for Summer 2010 from May to August.
The rest of the year it should be in the Caribbean and the Wonder still year round doing its usual trips for 3/4 days.
The only hints I have herd are for Northern Europe for Summer 2010, and not the Med, sailing the Baltic sea.
As no one knows for sure what 2010 will bring I wouldnt have thought there would be loads on the waitlist, and even if there are, some will be pleased if it was Europe, some will not, and they will hope for other things like West coast USA, or Alaska.
DCL have been known to close waitlists such as Panama Repos, so if interested contact them, or speak to your TA.
Suite deposits are double the usual cruise type deposit, so for 7 nights its $500, 14 nights could be 1,000 pp, and 10/11 nights prorata.
