Suite Perks

I've seen a number of posts about the treats/snacks/food that are delivered to the suites. What exactly is delivered? Is it the same as the concierge service at the hotels? I've stayed on the concierge floors at the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian, but not in the Florida hotels.

I read that Mickey bars are delivered to the rooms. I hope the Mickey sandwiches are, too. Oh, and the chocolate-covered bananas. Those are my new favorite park treat!

We were on a 4 night recently and we got stuff like a plate of cheese/crackers/fruit, and cookie plates. You can get Mickey bars from room service, they aren't listed on the menu though. HTH.

Mickey bars are not a suite perk. You can order them from any stateroom. Alas, there are no frozen bananas on board (I agree they are tasty). You can order room service from the main restaurants, including Palo, in the suites tho.

Only guests staying in a category 1 or 2 suite may order room service from Palo. Guests in any suite can order dinner from the three rotational dining rooms, and also full hot breakfast from Triton's/Lumiere's (except on the last morning).

Concierge service in the suites also include being able to book everything at 120 days out, my kids got arcade cards, we got a gift at the end of the cruise and were able to get a tour of the bridge, and into Palo as much as we wanted, The little snacks every day was the least of it. We also got free water bottles and soda in our room.

In addition to what PPs have said, we received a beautiful DCL lithograph at the end of our last cruise. We didn't get this on our first cruise and we had the same suite. So this may be at the discretion of the concierge.

It was certainly a nice surprise.

Let me see if I can remember all the concierge perks. Except for departure day, the concierge dropped by daily with a treat. If we were out, the treat was carefully placed on the dining table with a card. We received chocolate covered strawberries a couple of times, a lot of fruit platters (can't recall if there was cheese on a few of them, I think there may have been), a big bag of popcorn for a "movie" day, and a note that indicated that the concierge had been by with Mickey bars--but had not delivered them, since we were out at the time (there was a card that said we could order Mickey bars from Room Service).
When we arrived there was a modest selection of assorted soda, and bottled water in our cabin--there were no free refills on this.

I wonder if it is at the discretion of the concierge? We requested bottled water only, no sodas and it was restocked each morning.

We were also given the choice of a continental breakfast on debarkation morning.

We received a bag of popcorn whenever we ordered a DVD.

We also had a private reception outside at Beach Blanket as we were sailing away from Castaway Cay. Goofy showed up for a meet & greet, my children loved it.

We've been in suites from the Walt and Roy, to the Cat 3, and sometimes we can get more sodas (always more water) and sometimes not. I have no idea what the difference is.
On our last two cruises, we happened to be in the room when concierge brought the Mickey Bars, but that's only in the last year or two. They never brought them in the years dating before that.

Sometimes the food on the tray they had delivered were little finger sandwiches, which are really good if you eat them right away, otherwise they dry out quickly.

On the Panama Canal cruise, they loaned us binoculars, and one day in port in the Caribbean when it was raining, they brought us all really nice ponchos, without us even asking!

When the kids are along with us, they usually do get arcade cards, often times more than one.

They will also help you take care of your tips at the end of the cruise, and your stateroom account, so that you don't have to stand in line.

Oh, and as far back as I can remember, we always got a special litho. On the "special" cruises, like the Panama Canal, every room got a litho, but the one in the suites, I believe, was different. And they gave one to each person in the room. We also got a special ceramic box commemorating the crossing.

They have never restocked ours when we were in a cat 3. The drinks are replenished if you stay in a cat 1 or 2, but they may restock in a cat 3 at the discretion of the Concierge staff.

I know it might not be concidered at perk but you do get extra bath products in your stateroom such as reflex gel, body scrub and there might be one other extra item. I cant remember at this point.

You also have special check-in area at port and food located in a special room for you.

Enjoy sailing in such oppulence!
You will enjoy it!

You also get priority tendering, but we did not take advantage of this being on a 4 day that didn't have to tender anywhere.

Does anyone in a cat 3 ask to trade out the Sprites/Cokes for Diet Cokes only (for example?). We never drink reg soda, just diets, but i've never had the nerve to ask.

The perks vary by concierge. We have had wonderful "attention" and not-so-magical times.

I seem to remember being asked what type of soda I would like. When the concierge came by I always asked for the water and sodas to be replenished. Never noticed if they charged us. After the cost of the room and our bar bill, a few extra charges for soda are a rounding error.:rotfl:

We too were specifically asked what drinks we wanted. When we replied only water bottles please, they asked how many a day and told us to let them know if we changed our minds and wanted sodas, too.

We did ask to change some of our sodas for different sodas--actually tonic water--and had problems with the exchange. Not sure what happened there, it did eventually work out.
Another nice perk was the cocktail party/reception for the guests in the suites, with a character appearance by Stitch!

who is the current concierge team on the Wonder? What you get in cat3s as far as drinks seems to depend on who you have-last two times we got refills of drinks-previous times only what was there the first day

Hi there,

I've heard on this board that only Cat 1 and Cat 2 can order from Palo, when others have stated that you can order Palo in Cat 3. Which is correct?

I will be in a Mid-ship Cat 3 on the Wonder on Sep 2 but would like to know this so I can plan accordingly.

Please help.

Wow - thanks, everybody! We're in a Cat. 3 and I can't wait! All of these perks sound pretty good to me, though I know from a different thread that I need to bring my own Dr Pepper. ;)

You should be able to switch out what you want and what you do not want. As far as I know you should also get refills. Just ask, ask and ask somemore for what you want and what you paid for!
