Does anyone know of a nice hotel in the Garden Grove Area that has suites (reasonably priced)??? :)

Hi, RIFamily!
Last June, we stayed at the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area in Garden Grove.
We had a Kids' Suite, which had one room with a king bed and bathroom, another room with bunkbeds and a bathroom, a sleeper sofa in the living area, and a full kitchen.
We are heading out again next month and I was recently pricing it out because we loved it so much last year.
The extra bathroom was wonderful for the kids, the kitchen was handy for some quick snacks, and they have a full breakfast buffet each morning and an evening snack buffet on some weeknights.
I found rates of around $150/night on Travelocity, so that's a ballpark figure for you, depending on when your stay is.
They are on the ART system, not a complimentary shuttle like last year, but it's only $3 per person/day, with kids under 10 free.
We are ending up staying at the Disneyland Hotel next month (3/20-3/25)with the kids' tickets free and a $150 gift card for booking 4 or more nights.
It's ending up costing us about the same as going in June at an offsite hotel and having to pay for all our tickets.
I know we'll all be in one room together, but we can actually say we stayed at the original DH, we'll be able to walk (no shuttles!), and the kids will just love the Peter Pan pool!
If you're looking for a great suite hotel in Garden Grove, I would highly recommend the Residence Inn.
PM me if you have any other questions.
Enjoy!
Rose :)

There is an Embassy Suites in Garden Grove. I haven't stayed there myself, but it does get good reviews both here and Trip Advisor. I believe there is complimentary transportation to the park that is shared with the Hilton Garden Inn and 1 other, maybe Homestead Suites, I can't remember.

We just got March reservations at $120/night (military rate) which the other rate was $130 for the Embassy Suites Anaheim South (which is actually in Garden Grove). It's 1 mile from the park. Google it and check out the website. It looks great. The suites seem to be all the same. One king and a pull out sofa. They have a made to order breakfast buffet. I'm amazed.

There are pics of the Residence Inn-Resort area in one of the sticky threads at the top.

I just found out we did get the 2 room suite with a King in one room and a sofa bed in the other. The "parlor" suite has 2 queens in one room and a sofa bed in the other. Anyway, there are more than one type of room. It looks beautiful from the website.

just to let you know, i have friends from garden grove and they all say its not the best of areas. im sure the hotels are nice, and the immeadiate area, but night time might not be so safe if you stray away.

Actually, they used to offer the free transportation. I'm pretty sure all those hotels are on the ART system now.

We've stayed at Residence Inn, Marriott Anaheim Suites, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, and Hampton Inn & Suites

They're all right in the same general area on Harbor Blvd. in Garden Grove and all have at least some suites available. I really like staying in that area.

Embassy Suites is probably my favorite - but I wouldn't have a problem staying at any of them again.

I would guess that Hampton is probably the least expensive, but I don't think they have a ton of suites, you'd have to check on availability for your dates.

This is exactly what I think of Anaheim and Santa Ana. As with any unfamiliar areas, use your common sense. Lock your door and never go anywhere by yourself. At least in Garden Grove you aren't kept up at night by gunfire.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites last April. We had a bedroom w/ 2 queens, bathroom, small LR & kitchen w/ dishwasher, full size fridge, and sink. Breakfast was decent, rooms were quiet, and it was less than 10 min. from DL. We got the best rates from www.getawaytoday.com
