My friend is going to Orlando (disney) with her DH and son in May 2006 and staying for 3 nights...and we will meet them with our kids and stay as well. We usually stay on-site or at the Dolphin, but my friend needs a suite or a hotel with two seperate rooms because her DH is a very loud snorer and they cannot sleep in the same room! She wants to book at Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista because of the rooms and they give free breakfast every morning, but I was reading some reviews on Tripadvisor.com and the reviews are not so great. We were hoping to stay at the same hotel because we want to hang out by the pool in the evenings, but quite frankly I don't want to stay there after seeing reviews and pictures. I suppose I've become spoiled?!!
Can anyone suggest another suite hotel very close to Disney with a great pool area and room? We've stayed at Sheraton Vistana, but they don't give free breakfast...not sure if that is a requirement of my friend. Any suggestions? Thank you :flower:

I just got a great rate through mousesavers.com for $89 per night in Sept. "06 for a one bedroom suite at Doubletree Suites, this is a DTD hotel. They quoted me a two bedroom suite also, but I can't remember how much it was. They do offer the free breakfast daily and I have heard good reviews about this hotel. Here is the link through mousesavers

How coincidental! I was just looking on mousesavers and found this hotel and it was looking good to me! What a great rate you got! DId you call the hotel directly to get that rate or did you book online? Thank you for your reply! :sunny:

I just clicked on the link at the bottom of the description on the mousesavers site. I think you have to book through this link (it takes you to the Hilton website) to get the mousesavers rate and free breakfast. There is also a code listed at the bottom of the page so I just copy and pasted that into the corporate account part. It was real easy to do. Good Luck!

Consider the Residence Inn LBV. It's right next door to Embassy Suites. The suites are great. The two bedroom suite has two full bathrooms. Getting ready in the morning is much quicker. The hot breakfast buffet is outstanding. Great pool area also. Check out the reviews on Tripadvisor.com. The reviews are very good. The hotel is on Palm Parkway, about one mile from the DTD entrance on 435.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Family Suites (now know as Nickelodeon Family Suites). It is very kid friendly with an awesome pool that will keep children entertained for hours. Also has an ok restaurant with free breakfast with some packages.

We did Staybridge Suites near DTD before. 2 bed suite with a nice pool. Cont. breakfst included....the food wasn't anything special though. It was $99 a night. good luck.

I liked the Staybridge Suites also. Free breakfast was ok but not amazing. Location was good, suite was nice, staff friendly.

I am going back next year :earsboy:

We've stayed at the Residence Inn LBV and highly recommend it. The 2 bedroom was very spacious, beds very comfy. The pool area had a real resort feel to it.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I really appreciate it! :flower:

DoubleTree is great for its location, as well as the suites at Buena Vista Palace. Both hotels are on Disney property adjacent to DTD with complimentary transportation to and from the parks.

I haven't seen anyone mention a great, new villa-style resort on Lake Davenport close to Disney. It's called the Bahama Bay Resort and it's a Caribbean-themed property complete with a white sand beach on the shore of the lake. It's beautiful! You can find more information at www.doorlando.com.

We have stayed at this hotel 2 times and loved it! However, we have not been there since they switched it to Nick. When we were there the breakfast buffet was free for everyone, now kids eat free with a paying adult ($9.95). Kids actually eat free with any paid adult meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner. :)

I stayed at Doubletree SUites a few years ago and thought that, for the money and the space we got, it was great. HOWEVER, we now have a ressie there for one night using Hilton Honors freebie and the reviews on Travelocity are so bad that I am not sure we want to start our vacation this way, even for one night, even just using Honors points. We are then staying on our DVC points at OKW. Anyone with very recent experiences at Doubletree Suites? Is it THAT bad???? I just want to know if it is clean, basically!

Here is another vote for the Residence Inn in LBV, we stayed there Jan. 29th- Jan. 1st. Very nice place, staff was great, rooms clean, and good breakfast everyday.
Its a little out of the way, but close enough to everything.
