I have some relatives that are local to Disney while we are there? With our kids is there a place on or near property thats easy for outsiders to get to?

Thanks

it's not like WDW is locked down like a maximum security prison. :) literally across the street from the east gate, for example, are a number of restaurants. and we go to resort restaurants no problem. you show an ID and security will give you a temporary parking pass.if they want to join you in the park restaurants, they'll have to have a park ticket however. :)

We have met friends/relatives from Florida at Boma at AKL twice. They all loved it, and it's a neat resort that none of them had visited. The food there ranges from plain (kids food) to somewhat exotic and is good for vegtarians as well.

I would recommend a good resort restaurant (visitors can get a 3-hour pass for any of the resort hotels). My other suggestion would be somplace in Downtown Disney -- maybe Wolfgang Puck's.

We've met family & friends at Cape May Cafe & Beaches & Cream for dinners at the Beach Club Resort. Both were good & lots of fun! I'd say any of the resort restaurants, or a restaurant at Downtown Disney are your best bets - just depends on what kind of food you're looking for. :)

Good ideas so far, not sure where you're staying. Throw one more at you, there are quite a few nice places at the Boardwalk area. We had friends staying at Universal meet us there. If they are going for dinner no problem. And you can stroll around there afterwards, lots of places for dessert.

If you're wanting to be in a park right up to meal time, the Rain Forest Cafe at AK would be closest to a park while still accessible to outsiders. Also, the restaurants at any of the monorail resorts should be easily accessible for both parties.

The Rain Forest Cafe at AK is accessible to people who don't want to enter the park. Also, there are a number of restaurants at Downtown Disney.

We had our friends meet us at ESPN on the boardwalk....they had no problem at all....we all ate and then went on the Illuminations Cruise....Good Time Had By All!!

We had family meet us at Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney and we've also had friends meet us at Crabby Joe's on 192.

My grandparents live in Kissimmee. We met them at Palio's for Christmas dinner in 04. My parents went and picked them up, brought them to eat with my family, and then brought them back home. No problems. It was a gorgeous, delicious dinner!

We are hoping to repeat the scenario this Christmas but hoping to dine at Artist Point.

Good luck and have a great time!

Ask your friends, they will probably have a better idea than you if they're frequent WDW guests, as a local.

I agree that the Resort Restaurant is probably the best bet though.
