We're thinking of going to Disneyland Paris for a few days at the beginning of Sep.

Can anyone tell me where to stay (in the resort), how to get there etc etc & an idea of prices/packages/how to book. Do the packages include entrance to the parks?

Will we be disappointed after going for several years to WDW?

Also will it still be busy 1-4 Sep?

p.s. we're looking at flying from Heathrow if poss.

Hi,

I would book it all seperatly, you get the airfares cheaper that way. Bridge travel do accommadation only, but I still think you would be better getting prices direct. You can either book a package or just the hotel and buy the passes seperatly. An annual pass will give you hotel discounts.

It might be quicker to go by Eurostar. We are going in August and it only takes 2.5 hours from Ashford with only a half hour checkin. You are then dropped off directly at the park. We used airmiles and cash to do ours.

One point you may not know is that the hours drastically reduce in Sept. The park opens later and shuts early. Checkout the disneyland paris web site
www.disneylandparis.co.uk for info on opening and shutting times.

Also if you want to stay on site, I would not stay in the Santa Fe and Cheyenne. The Cheyenne was better, but no swimming pool etc. The Santa Fe looked horrible and I would not ever want to stay there.

We have stayed in the New York and it was really nice, a bit formal. We have chosen the Sequoia lodge this time mainly due to expense. The Newport Bay looks lovely and I would love to stay in the Disneyland hotel.

I did run a price for 1/4 sept in the disneyland paris web site for two adults it was £658 that includes breakfast and passes. If you book with out a package you would have to buy the passes. Also there is the airfare on top of that. The airfare prices vary dramatically and it really depends upon which airline/airport you are using. The Eurostar would be about £95 return from London or get the Eurostar to Paris and a local train to Disney. This can work out cheaper. We have changed at Lill before an that was a lot cheaper.

They only publish prices 3 months in advance for Paris routs etc, but the Disneyland Paris train prices are out now.

Fantastic - thank you v. much. At least I know know where to start looking. We hadn't even considered Eurostar but will look into it now.

One more question - would we need a hire car while we're there?

No, the hotels are walkable or use the shuttle bus. When we were in the New York it took 10 mins tops to walk to the park. The S.L. and NPB is about 10-15min. It is a nice walk through the downtown shops and into the park. If you want to go to Paris etc then the RER train service is the best bet.

I would seriously consider Eurostar. It would take longer by plane. You have to get to the airport, 2 hours waiting around before the flight, 45 mins flying time and then you have to get through the airport on to either the RER or dedicated coaches to take you to DLP. If you do decide to fly make sure that it goes to CDG airport, as there is another airport classified as Paris which is further out. Some of the cheaper airlines use it. Also on the last day you can book the 18:30 ish train back which gives you all day in the parks. The train station is right in the middle of the down town shops and the parks.

There are lots of hotels that are just on the fringes and one that has opened up the holiday Inn which actually states, I believe, that it is on DLP land.

This hotel starts from about 75 Euros/£50/$90 a night.

The Eurostar is definately the way to go! It is so easy! We have stayed at Santa Fe and Cheyenne and although they are not great they do the job very well if you are on a budget. However, we have also stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and it was amazing! Staying on site is so convenient, you can just walk down to the park in ten minutes.

I was worried about it not living up to WDW as well. Obviously it cannot compare to it, however we have had a great time each time we've been, never feeling disappointed. It is as good as you are going to get so close to home!!! That's what I think anyway!!

Have fun! Let us know what you decide.

iThe Santa Fe isn't so bad! It depends what you want from your hotel to be honest. If you are just after a base to kip and keep your stuff during your stay, Santa Fe is fine. It's a little basic compared to, say the Disneyland Hotel itself, however the food is fine, the room I stayed in was clean and I had a nice view overlooking a little stream.

Bearing in mind you are probably not going to spend that much time in the hotel itself coz there is too much else to do, why spend a fortune? This time I'm giving the Sequoia a try. It just looked really nice in the pics however the Santa Fe was a pleasant place to stay considering how much time I actually spent in the hotel.

Most people seem to like Eurostar, but we always go by plane because it's obviously much easier from where we live! So in case you want to know how to get from either of the airports in Paris, the easier option is the shuttle bus

Check out this excellent site for more information and pictures. Also you can find virtual tours of the hotel on the official website - Disney BB posted the link for that.
