suggestions on wedding planners

i was told my my coordianator that if i had an opinion on the planner. does anyone have any one that they think was great or that they really disliked???

my coordinator said that did i have opnios of one. we were talking about this board and i said what good experiences everyone had she asked if anyone stood out and she could do her best to place me with that one if they were available. i am sorry i did not want this post to casue problems, i was just woundering oinions of certain people.

no one got upset i think we were both just confused because most of the time brides and grooms have no say at all. you are given a planner based on their availability really and their amount of weddings.

there are a few threads on here about great planners. I had michelle Shumate and can not say enough great things about her. she was amazing and helped is so much.

Oh no offense I just wanted to make sure you understood correctly. I think that it is great you are given the option. I can't help with opioins though- I am having some issues at the moment. As Sarah mentioned Michelle has a good rep as well as Ken Weaver

We haven't been given a coordinator yet (should be finding out this week), so i can't really tell you who's the "best", but i've also heard that Ken is great. DF and I met him briefly when our sales manager took us around on our site visit last month. He was getting ready for a reception to start at ADH, and seemed extremely professional and friendly.

For an intimate, I would go with Tanis Armstrong. She was great and honestly, not a thing went wrong on our wedding day!

My EM was Carol Mikles and she was fatastic - very prompt and on top of it all - she and I clicked from the beginning!!!! Loved her!

I vote for Meri. SHe is great, we loved her. We just got married last week and have no complaints. Everything went perfect as planned thanks to Meri.

I have Juliana Acosta for my intimate wedding, i have spoken to her a couple of times and she sounds really lovely, nothing is too much trouble for her, and she replies to emails really quickley as well

Both were great but Maxine was so calming when it came to my wedding jitters.

We also have Michelle Shumate for our planner. We are getting married in June and just got back from meeting with Michelle at our planning session. She has been really great to work with so far and you should have nothing to worry about. She is extremely prompt with telephone calls and emails. I have heard stories about brides having to work mostly with their EM's assistant but I have always worked directly with Michelle. She was great at our planning session - I felt very comfortable with her and am extremely glad she is our planner. She's been a EM for 8 years and knows what she is doing! Another plus, she was also a Disney bride so she also knows our perspective . Congratulations, she's great!!

I posted before but thank your lucky starts you got Michelle! she is fantastic...not a single thing on our wedding day went wrong. She saw our vision, was prompt and caring and a really friendly person. She get's that this is your special day and treats it as if its her only wedding. Amazing!
