We are leaving for our very first "magical" vacation in about a month and I would love to hear past experiences or suggestions for making the vacation super special for boys between the ages of 5 and 10. I have done quite a bit of research already and do have some of our itinerary figured out but would love an experienced bit of input. We have 5 days and an admittedly limited budget. The passes and room is already to go....food scares me. I've arranged a character breakfast and a lunch at a special restaurant...I figure on eating one meal a day out of our room and the other 2 meals in the room or simply healthy snacks throughout our adventurous day. I realize August will be crowded and HOT so I plan to allow for mid-day pool time and recharging!!!
Please share info and successful choices for things to see, I can't wait to share this experience with my kids and husband ....memories for a lifetime!!!!!!!!

Well it sounds like you are off to a good start!. We usually eat 1 meal a day in a restaurant, and either a quick snack in the park or at our room. I have 2 boys who have been going since they were babies, and they are now 12 and 14 and still love it. My kids always wanted to go to the water parks. And swimming in the pool. We always do Magic kingdom on the first day since this is their favorite park. I let them look at the map of the park and they pick which land to start in. No matter what you have planned I am sure your family will have a great time. We will also be there in that August heat!
