We have an infantino euro rider. But our 2mth old seems to swim in it and it is adjusted as much as it goes. Also, It is a pain to put on. Can anyone suggest some? I would like a heigher weight limit to use later; maybe one that can be used on the back also? Definately something that will be comfortable as she will be 4.5 mths when we go to Disney and we will be chasing around a 2.5 year old.

thanks

I have a Babyhawk that I LOVE, but if I were doing it again, I'd get an Ergo.

There's an infant insert (which I don't know if you'd need at 4 1/2 mos). It goes on the front of the back. Baby can go facing out or towards you (I think, someone should confirm that).

And you could probably even carry the 2.5 year old in it!

Ergo.

With Ergos, as they are ergonomic for baby and adult, baby faces the parent's body. So if on the front, baby faces adult's face. If on the back, baby faces the same way the adult is facing. Much better for everyone's spines and pelvises! And baby can hide his/her little face when interaction gets to be too much. win win win. :)

The mei tais are great, but I got tired of all the tying. And I only had a non-padded strap one with a mesh body to it, so it was really light, but still it was unwieldy with tying, untying, etc etc. But you can't beat it for being a traditional style of babywearing!

Is it really not good for them to face out when in the front? Also if sitting in back how high up are they? I want her to be able to see things and not be smothered in our chests. They are pricey.

I loved my mei tai so very much, but depending on how big your baby is, it may be too much at 4.5 months. My dd was only around 11 lbs then, so she would have been lost in it. For a smaller baby, I really liked the kanagroo korner adjustable pouch.

I use a beco Butterfly II, which is very similar to the Ergo. I love it!!! My son is now 14 months old and 20lbs and I still wear him when we go out. It is so much easier, we went black friday shopping and he wouldn't nap in the stoller, so I put him on and he was out in two minutes, he slept for about an hour. I havn't really worn him on my back yet, but the few times I have put him on the back he has done fine. He loves to go on my back in the mai tai but I don't care for it becasue he spends the whole time playing (pulling) my hair! But somedays it is the only way I can get stuff done. I only use the mei tai in the house because I also find the straps a pain to use when I am out. I also use a ring sling a lot, especially for quick in and out trips. If I were planning a trip to WDW I would probally bring both my beco and my ring sling and switch back and forth depending on what we were doing. I know I took both with us on Black Friday but I ended up only using the Beco.
