Suggestions on buying a Front Entry door

We will be looking to buy a front entry door (with one side light panel).
Being FL residents, and our house facing the south, I will rule out a wood door.
Anyone here knowledgeable or can share their experience on other type of front entry doors?

Therma Tru makes a door that looks like wood, but is fiberglass. We have one, with sidelights, and I love it. You can have it stained any shade you want, from a light oak to a dark walnut. Ours is a light cherry.

There are a lot of nice steel doors too. There are many glass options too. We have leaded glass, but I have seen them with colored glass, some with just an accent color.


You will have a lot of great choices.

We have replaced a few doors in other houses and we have always bought steel.
I was wondering what the real difference between steel and fiberglass doors are. If anyone has experience between the two, I would love to hear that also.

When we replaced our front door we went with fiberglass because it had the look of wood and we stained it to match the rest of our trim in the house. It also had a higher R rating then the steel doors that were available.
