Suggestions needed

I am planning a Disneyland/San Diego trip for next May/June (this can be changed). I know the summer months are busy, but was hoping the end of May or beginning of June may be a little better than July. Is this so, or does it not matter? I am guessing if we go as soon as school lets out (may 26), I should not go to DL on Memorial Weekend and do SD as this part of the trip, then DL for three days around June 2 - 5. Any suggestions. Again, would it make a difference in crowd levels? I'm clueless when it comes to planning for the west coast.

We just got back from our 4 day trip. I didn't think it would be crowded the beginning of May as school is still in session. Boy was I wrong. They have something called grad nights which happened 2 of the 4 days we were there. Many many kids seem to have graduated some probably from middle/grade/highschool as well as college. Those days were busy especially our last night which was a Friday night. It seems even more crowded because some of the walkways are narrow and can't really accommodate the amount of people in the parks. DCA seems to be more spread out so the crowds don't seem as bad. As with WDW rope drop is the best way to go to get the most done in the shortest amount of time. They also still use the paper FP's. I don't think that there are slow times in any of the Disney parks on either coast.

I went last year at the end of May/beginning of June and also the end of July. July actually felt less crowded. We had miserable experiences with grad night crowds, so I will avoid those from now on.

I hate hearing this :( We are going soon and there are two grad nights while we are there. Can't change the trip either, it's my nieces 10th birthday trip.

Don't worry! I'm sure you'll still have a great time- crowds or not! Check out some of the strategy forums to help you maybe get a better idea of how to appoach the parks to have the least crowds.

Oh I have been many times when it's very crowded! I was just hoping for lighter crowds on a Wednesday and Thursday, but with the grad nights I will just have to prepare! We always get there at rope drop and get a lot dine in the AM, busy days or not, so that will be our plan, then just take it easier and slower once it gets crowded!
