I have posted on and off. but Im in need of suggestions.

My wedding is a bit different than tradition as my future in laws are paying for everything for us. their son is an only child and we are currently staying with them and wanted our wedding in the front yard of thier house wich they graciosly approved along with a louah rehersal and someother fun stuff planned the entire weekend.

the Wedding is the 10th of July and on the 14th we will be in disney all four of us his parents and me and my new husband the only way our trip is made possible is again his parents are paying for our room and alot of our meals. my future husband and I are currently not working (start a new job in two weeks)

The suggestions i am looking for is I need to do something really special for my inlaws they are the best i love them dearly (i get along more with them than my own mother) we suggested takeing them out to a nice dinner but his dad is refusing to go to dinner if were paying (doesnt want us to spend money on him) every time we bring up where we are eating it ends in a big fight his dad off in bed and my future husband ends up going to bed and his mom and i all upset.
so I am looking for something inexpensive that i can surprise them with that hopefully wont get his dad mad once at WDw.
thanks in advance oh and we almost had a disney wedding but it was too costly so we have included some hidden mickeys in our wedding cerimony and reception.

Why not send a nice gift basket to their room? I have used Peggy's Sweets and the basket was great. She will personalize it any way you want. There is also the Disney Florist. That way if something is in the room when they get there they can't say no!

I agree.. sending them somtehing would be nice. We had a Disney gift basket sent to our room from family who couldnt attend the wedding and it was beautiful! It was filled with fruit, cheeses, crackers, Disney candy, a bottle of champagne and 2 disney toasting flutes. It was nice!

How about a carriage ride at POR or Fort Wilderness it's $30? Its a 30-minute carriage ride. A small carriage holds 2 adults and 1 small child. Larger carriage holds 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children.
Advance reservations can be made by calling WDW-PLAY

Im planning on one of these rides when we go and have heard good things about them. :flower:

A carriage ride is $30 and there are several locations for them around WDW. They last approximately 30 minutes, and take off from Fort Wilderness, POFQ and one other location I believe. Just call WDW and talk to them. That's probably the cheapest option of WDW activities. I know how that is because my family is the EXACT same way when you try to surprise them with anything. You want it to be nice, yet they always look at the price tag and go "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE SPENT THIS MUCH!!!" :rotfl:

Also, perhaps an engraved frame from Things Remembered, in which they can display a wedding photograph of the family? Engraving isn't too much and you could get a nice 8x10 I bet for under $50. We did a 5x7 for about $30.

Hmmm, This is a tough one...

www.giftsofalivetime.com might be able to arrange something, but I would make sure that your DF was in on it.

Maybe a monogrammed blanket, or something that they will use all of the time. DTD has some great shops and I think the x-mas store had a MAgical Memories frame...

Good Luck!!!

Thank you for the website for gifts of a life time does any one off hand have the site for the disney florist i had it once and cant find it again. I apreciate all the support
Ohanafamily- I dont think includeing DF is going to work he cant keep his mouth shut lol cant keep a secret worth anything if i do tell him what im doing it will be right before it happens. I wish he could keep his mouth closed it would be a whole lot easier ha ha.

Angel........you are so blessed to have such wonderful future In-laws. Mine are very generous but they don't mind telling me ALL THE TIME how much they have done for us. Kinda takes the meaning out of it, ya know. Seems like everything has strings attached.

Anyway......try www.disneyflorist.com and see if that works for you.

Have another suggestion. Call Disney Guest Services and see if they can get an autographed picture from Mickey and the Gang that says something like "Thank you for all you do." "You mean the world to us." or something like that. When we went last year, DD was turning 8. I called Guest Services and asked if they could send a b-day card from Cinderella to my daughter.
She got that and a chocolate sucker. She was so impressed. "How'd they know it was my birthday?!" Gee, honey, I don't know?!?! She finally figured it out b/c I couldn't stop grinning. Of course the tears of joy to see her surprise and happiness was a dead give away too!! :) :goodvibes

Good luck to you and your future hubby!

Thanks for the web site and sugestion about calling guest relations maybe i will try that as well as anything else I come up with I'm glad your daughter loved her surprise. when I have a child I am planning on takeing alot of ideas I have read on this board to surprise he or she with but that wont be for a few years not until James and I are done with school and have full time jobs

Thanks for the suggestions of the carriege rides My DF thought of that and hinted to his mom and she wasnt really receptive knowing she would never get his dad to go. oh well it was a thought

Are you a craft person? What about something you can make and then ask the front desk to leave it in their room while you are all out. Your future FIL shouldn't be too upset about that. Inexpensive and thoughtful with a personal touch. :flower:
