We are attending MNSSHP on 10/29, and I'm looking for suggestions for costumes for the adults in our party (grandma, mom, and dad...who can't stand to be hot) the granddaughters will be one of the princesses, of course! I was thinking of being the fairy godmother but am afraid that wearing a cape could be cumbersome. Would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions! Especially for dad, who wears shorts in January in upstate NY!

Adapt for men, ofc. The great thing about this costume is that most people have 90% of it in their closet anyway.

Or how about

I saw these guys at MNSSHP last time I was there. Very clever costume.

Or how about...

Wear a navy shirt, yellow skirt and a red head band for a simple Snow White. Belle would be either all yellow with a low side ponytail or all light blue with a blue bow (check out etsy for a book purse). Friend of mine who is great with hair did an Elsa braid and wore a blue sundress.

My Snow was a little more complicated by buying a puffy sleeved t-shirt that had red felt tear drops sewn on sleeves with gold thread, a yellow short skirt, red head band and a home made purse shaped like an apple. Shoes were my sandals. CM complimented on the simplicity and comfort of my costume. It was great as I wasn't hot, had nothing dragging on the ground and yet conveyed who I was dressed up to be.

You can just do a simple DisneyBound outfit if you want to wear something you already own and you want to be cool and comfy. (You can google for images). Last year, I wore a red and white polka dot dress with my mouse ears and went as Minnie. I was very comfy.

Last year my wife and I bought super hero t shirts with capes attached at target for under $20. Wore them with whatever pants we had. Simple easy to pack cool costume, and got lots of comments. I was superman, she was batgirl.

Last year my DH was Russell from Up. (I was Kevin) and we had a great time! Easily recognizable (people weren't always sure about me if I was alone but if I was with him, they knew every time) and neither of us was too hot! I had pieces of a feather boa on the back of my tutu. And I had feathers sticking up on top ofy head

Minnie is easy - I did it last year with a polka dot skirt, black T-shirt, black eyeliner for nose and eyelashes, and ears. Mickey would be easy to do the same way - red shorts instead of skirt.

We are going as the emotions from Inside Out this year for halloween. DD will be Joy, DH wants to be anger (although I think he'd make a better Fear), and I will be disgust. We can buy Plushes of the other 2 emotions and have DD carry them.

I think it will be super cute, and I get to wear green hair and lashes!

That's us too! I'm sure we will see MANY others but DS5 pretty much decided for us and once the 3 year old was on board too, there's just no stopping them. I've been assigned Disgust. DH's has been assigned Joy (no idea how we will reasonably pull that off), oldest DS wants to be Fear. Middle son Anger and the baby will be Sadness. I bought shirts to work on their costumes yesterday!

We found cheap and easy pirate costumes. No bottoms. Just a shirt and headgear that could be worn over our clothes.

Adults can dress as mouseketeers. Simple bottom black short or skirts or slacks. White shirt and mouse ears.

I've done a full cloak and it wasn't too cumbersome for me, just make sure you have a good clasp on it in case it gets stepped on if its long.
I agree with the others though Disneybounding seems like your best option if you have a lot of people who cannot deal with the heat. It was chilly last year around then, but now way of knowing if it will be as chilly this year.

This is exactly what we were thinking, except we are adults. I'll be Disgust, DS,20 Fear, his GF Joy, and if we can get DH to play Anger it will be great. Just wigs and outfits, no painted faces. Sounds like there might be a lot of emotions running around at MK, lol.

My husband is doing Baymax with a Baymax T, white pants & white sneakers. I'm doing a modified Maleficent with her horns and black lace top and skinny black jeans. Simple but fun!

Sounds cool, Hot Topic used to actually sell the dress Maleficent wore in the live action movie.

Wow. I was considering doing Belle with a full ball gown but I don't know, I thought it might be hard to get on the rides, LOL.

I know some dance stores sell long chiffon type skirts to be worn under costumes. Why not just do a straight gown and wear that seperately and pop it into a bag if it gets too cumbersome.

Maybe next time, my Maleficent horns are coming tomorrow. But I would love to.
