Suggestions Needed: Books on Child Develoment

My Sister in law asked for some books on Child Development for christmas. Shes a SAHM to a 5 year old girl in kindergarden and an almost 3 year old boy. While I could sit and browse the Child Development alsle at the book store I wanted to hear any suggestions you may have for kids in this age group or older. Thanks so much....

The Touchpoints series of books by T. Berry Brazelton are really good. They are more about social-emotional development.
