Suggestions if I am lazy and don't want to leave the Boardwalk area?

We are going for 2 weeks. For one of the weeks, we plan on being lazy and spending more time than normal at the resort. It will be split between the Boardwalk and Beach Club. We don't have many food reservations yet for that part of the trip.

Any suggestions for passing the time in that area, aside from the typical swimming/pool?

Here is what we have done before:
1) the brew pub
2) ESPN restaurant
3) pool at Boardwalk
4) pool at Dolphin
5) hung out on boardwalk at night
6) ran around the water
7) walked to the parks, as well as took a boat

Thanks!

ping-pong at CH
ride bikes
tennis
ice cream from the sweet shoppe
read book under the back balcony
grey goose slushie
stroll to dhs just because you can

I didn't mean to suggest that I would use the Dolphin pool. I just mentioned it because I was listing things that I had done in the area.

Ok, thought you might think it was on the approved pool hop list as many do or you might be staying there.

I know they have some great places to eat at the Swan/Dolphin. :thumbsup2

You can walk to the Hess station and get beer and pizza.

Can't get you get massages and other stuff at the S/D? Or maybe even over at the YC/BC?

Rent a watercraft from the YC boat dock. Maybe even an Illuminations cruise.

Fishing excursion from a boat on the waterway.

Visit Community Hall and see what they have going on. I know that sometimes they have scheduled activities for everyone, not just kids. Also over at the Breezeway at BCV they also have small activities like teaching you how to make towel animals.

Naps, lots of naps.

Yes S/D has a fabulous spa

If you like photography this area is one of my favorites to take pics. I have spent many hours just wandering around looking for great shots.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will take your advice on several of those ideas.

I was looking at the sea raycers last year, and it seemed like they were super slow everywhere but in Bay Lake, which probably makes sense. I figure that they lower them a notch in places where a wake might be an issue, or where space is tighter.

I would consider the spa, but it is kind of pricey given all of the other expenses we have this trip.

.
not only are they faster (or at least seem that way), there are also a lot more interesting places, with less traffic, to take the "watermice" in bay lake than crescent lake. they are lots of fun, just try to rent early in the day, when there are fewer in the water.

a few more:
- eat outside at BRG. try the beer flight
- pick a pearl by the BC
- browse the collections at weyland gallery
- surrey bikes
- have a few drinks, and make friends out of strangers in belle vue lounge
- ask for a BW "fact sheet" at the front desk (found out there actually is one when i asked the height of the foyer area, and weight of the horse chandelier :scratchin)
- visit the BWI pool (prettiest pool on property, imho), walk around by the garden suites/cottages
- barbeque at the BWV "quiet pool"

i agree with bbluvdis: there are tons of interesting photo ops at the BW including the penny viewers in the breezewzy between BWI/BWV, seabreeze point, etc

and one of our favorite things in all of life:
sitting on our balcony: starting with watching the sun come up, eople watching, finished by illuminations bursting over the eiffel tower at night :cloud9:

The BWI pool is surrounded by rose gardens. If I have time, I take a book back there and sit on a bench.

Beaches and Cream at BCV!! It's a great little 50's style soda shop. Burgers, hot dogs, etc and great ice cream. Go in the afternoon though, because late afternoon/dinner time is usually an hour or longer wait. They don't take reservations (which is really aggravating). LOL

We love to just walk into EPCOT through Int'l Gateway and just walk around World Showcase.

I agree with LSchrow - we love sitting on the balcony when we have a BW view. We are always amazed at how few people use their BW view balconies.

I think I read once that there are tours of the gardens at the Yacht Club and/or Beach Club. I would ask at the front desks and/or Concierge desks of each hotel if there are any tours (guided or self-guided) at the hotel. Tell them that you're not going to a park that day, and see if there is anything going on which isn't on the activity sheet.

I think the Beach Club has a free outdoor movie every night.

There may be DVC discounts if you eat at Swan/Dolphin restaurants, so be sure to check into that and take your DVC card with you.

I like to look in all of the hotel gift shops in that area, to see what's the same and what's different.

there are (on the beach), as well as at luna park....all weather dependent. want it to be even more interesting? watch the movie from the back of the screen (tho you would have to be really bored to watch an entire movie that ;)

You could watch a wedding.

I don't mean that in a scary, stalker kind of way...but I know that I have enjoyed watching from afar.

Don't forget about the lovely wicker chairs on the front porch.
