Suggestions for staying on property w/o dining plan

I've been having a hard debate with this one, going with the plan, not going with the plan, going with the QS plan, and I can't make up my mind. Most recently I'm leaning towards not going with any of the dining plans at all. I'm planning on staying at Pop Century for 5 nights. Just my girlfriend and I. We probably would only want 2 sit down dinners over the course of the 5 nights we're there, just as a little break from all the hustle and bustle. All the rest of the meals would be on the go (though we figure we'll bring a box of cereal with us for breakfasts at the room).

I guess my question is, is it possible to eat well in the park without going to a sit-down resturant and without breaking the bank? I'm hoping to not eat fast food junk every single night I'm there. Does anybody have suggestions on places to eat that aren't sit-downs? And would it be worth my while to get the QS plan? I need 3 meals a day, though my girlfriend would survive on only 2.

(I feel so dazed and confused by this whole dining thing, it's the one part of this trip I can't wrap my head around for some reason :confused3 Help Me!!!)

If you not eating a sit down every day the dining plan is not worth it. You can use 2 day for a signature restaurant. So if that's your plan the dining plan is a good buy. I've looked at the number for QS and I don't think it's that great a deal.

We never do the dining plan. It just doesn't seem like it would be worth it to us, especially since they stopped including the gratuity. There are places with CS that are not your standard fast food. Here are a few of our favorites:

MK - Columbia Harbor House...Good sandwiches (tuna or hummus, my favorites), soups and entree salads.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons...Salmon, oriental, salads, soup, deli and great desserts.

AK - Probably my favorite park for CS...Flametree BBQ (everything is good here) and Yak and Yeti CS has good shrimp lo mein, chicken fried rice and egg rolls.

DHS - The only CS here that we go to is Backlot Express...Grilled turkey, cheese, roasted red pepper sandwich and great entree salad.

Our VERY favorite CS is in DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express... Everything we've had here in probably 20 visits is wonderful, hot and fresh. Definately worth a trip to DTD just to eat here!!!!!:goodvibes
