I will be at BWV in April for a conference. One of the evenings we are there i would love to do dinner somewhere then head up to the TOWL for a drink and fireworks. (I am a DVC member)

1. what would be a good restaurant to eat at which would make an easy trek - either monorail or walking to head over to the TOWL? I know there is the California grill but I don't care much for the menu. I am thinking if there is something else at VGF, Poly or the BLT/contempory.

Is the WLV too difficult to get to the TOWL

3. IF you suggest a particular restauant -- what time would you recommend in order to get to the TOWL for fireworks? I am trying to figure out the schedule -- it looks as though Wishes will be at 10:00pm, so i would imagine getting there for 9ish would be a good idea. Maybe a 7:30 reservation?

I love going to TOWL for the the fireworks. Our last trip we went there 4 times to watch the fireworks when we were staying at BWV. I enjoy the Wave at the the Contempory and makes it very easy to get to the lounge. We also ate at Disney Spring one night around 6 then headed over to BLT right after. We would get there between 8-9 to sit back and enjoy a drink before it got to crowded inside.

I second The Wave. It's super close to TOWL, food is great and it's usually pretty quiet in there. 7:30 dinner would be fine.

The Wave is a great choice. There is a lounge there with the full menu available. However, if its just drinks/appitizers you are after, they offer that at the TOWL.

To the question about Wilderness Lodge, there is a boat that continuously circulates around Bay Lake stopping at the Contemporary, Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge.

The Wave is fantastic and TOWL would be super easy to get to from there. As PP pointed out, getting from WL to CR is actually quite easy as well as there is continuous boat service. Another casual option could be GF Cafe. Nice atmosphere, good food.

From TOWL, I would actually walk over to the MK bus area and take the BWI bus from there. No need to take the monorail. Or, just take a cab or uber.

thank you for the suggestions. After the fireworks - what is the easiest way to get back to the BWV? Would monorail to MK then hop on BW bus?

We used Uber and it was great. It was only $8.00 and never really had to wait more then a couple minutes for the ride. We would walk down the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator and the car would be there shortly there after.

I would highly suggest Artist Point at WL. Take the boat from CR to WL. Nice scenic little ride. We always include WL on our monorail pub crawls because it has what I consider the quitest, nicest little out of the way lounge (Territory Lounge) where you could also have a pre-dinner cocktail if desired.

I too would go to the Wave. That place is a hidden gem! Love love love the food there. And its super convenient for you too. :)
