I have two children ages 11 and 12. In the past they have done the tea parties, pirates cruises and such. Now that they are older those things are not suited for them. What sort of activities are available for the pre teen set?All of the interactive tours you must be at least 16 to participate so that leaves them out.I was really surprised by the lack of tours for the tween set at Disney. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated they kids alwys look forward to these extra activities.

I have a 12 year old DD. I haven't found anything specifically for that age group. I posted the same question last year and got no responses.

She has enjoyed the Behind the Seeds tour at the Land (if you like info about how to grow plants LOL), and the special safaris. We've done the club level safari from WL and the AKV breakfast safari. She also LOVES Innoventions at Epcot. There are a lot of things to do in there. We tried Disney Quest and it wasn't worth the money.

She also likes to go to the Garden Tea Room at the Grand Floridian. She orders Mrs. Potts tea. The "tea" is chocolate milk, but she gets to enjoy the whole "tea" experience without drinking tea.

That is really unfortunate for that age group to be left out of the "special " stuff. MY DD would probably like the Tea but DS would not be too thrilled (lol). I had thought about the flower arranging class at SSR but she did not get too excited so I am sure she would have her normal "bored" look the entire time. You know the age. DS will be fine as long as there are roller coasters involved.Hopefully there will be some suggestions but I think this age group may have to just enjoy the parks. Thanks for your input.

While the parks have a gap in this age range, the resorts (at least the DVC and deluxe ones) have started to have a lot more activities for this age. Kim possible is a great “tour” of the countries at EPCOT if your children are into that (and it is free).

:) I have also read that some people have had success sending the kids on there own scavenger hunt around the park or resort. One lady had a whole cool list of things to find at Pop Century. Maybe you could organize something. Have they tried the animation session to draw a character in DHS? Heck my MIL wants to do that again.:rotfl:

That is a really great idea. I checked into the Kim Possible thing. It sounded like something everyone would enjoy. Thank you.

Glad it might be helpful, just beware that if your children get “hooked” you it can take the equivalent of 8-12 hours to do them all. Have fun, my kids did.

My DD did the Kim Possible thing in July. They had some neat things at the Japan pavilion. She enjoyed it. I think she tried the France adventure too, but it wasn't as good as Japan. They assign you the pavilion when you pick up the communicator at Innoventions. It doesn't take too much time because they will only send you on one adventure at a time.
