Suggestions for pre- and post-Disney Cruise?

Hi all! we are going on our very first Disney cruise - and first big boat cruise ever - with DD1 and DD2 next summer. DD1 will be 6 and is a Disney veteran (She says she wants to move there when she grows up), and DD2 will be 21 months when we go. We are thinking of spending 3 nights pre-cruise and 2 nights post-cruise and are torn where we want to be. We very much want to try Beach Club and love the convenience of walking to Epcot. Do you all have suggestions of the other resort, and which one to do first and second? (Pre-trip will be Wed-SatAM, post-cruise will be Sat-Mon). Thanks for your advice!

What is your park focus?

I'd typically say do an MK resort then an Epcot resort, if the budget allows.

I agree with this. When we do splits, we always split between an EP and a MK resort. It cuts way down on transportation to parks and allows you to enjoy two deluxe resorts.

I would think about which parks you want to visit and make your resort plan from there. If you are spending more time in MK, do the MK resort for 3 nights. More time in EP and DHS, spend the 3 nights at an EP resort.

If AK is on your schedule, you may even want to consider an EP/AKL or MK/AKL split. We found AKL to be a great pre- or post-cruise resort if we aren't planning on a lot of park touring as AKL is a destination unto itself.

We are definitely EP people and really want to try BC/BCV, perhaps renting points as we are possibly thinking about DVC. Thing is, it looks like from easy WDW that the better days to visit EP are after our cruise (Saturday, sunday) while MK may be better Thursday/Friday before the cruise. And we've stayed at more MK resorts in the past, so there isn't the pull to try something new. Also wondering if we'd want space and chill post cruise after spending a week with all of us in the same cabin, which would suggest staying in a 1BR at AKL/AKV post cruise and just enjoying the resort. Which would be fun too. Decisions, decisions...
