My fiance and I are talking about a possible (ok looks like probable) trip in December for the two of us. We just got back from a family trip (us and two children 16 and 13). This is where we ate this time and we are looking for some suggestions other than these places. Don't get me wrong these are awesome at least for the most part, but we want to try new things.

Maya Grill
Liberty Tree Tavern
Biergarten
Hollywood and Vine
Planet Hollywood
Chefs de France
Yak and Yeti
Kouzzina
1900 Park Fare

If you don't mind traveling to other resorts - and a bit pricer of a menu - California Grill and Boma are great choices for adults!

If you are on the DDP, check our Narcosses or like PP said Cali Grill! They can be pricey but worth it!

Along with Cali grille - I'd look into Artist Point. We also like Raglan Road - fantastic bread pudding dessert. It is out of this world!

Cinderellas royal table is a special experience with great foodand they have 1 two person table right in the middle with the best view!

Not sure if you're into dinner shows...but the spirit of aloha show has unlimited beer ha...but I think it is two TS credits...

For quieter, adult-type dining, take a look at the Turf Club (Saratoga Springs) and Sanaa (AK Lodge Kidani). No characters, no crazy servers, just a nice meal. At Downtown Disney there are several places to consider. My two favorites there are Wolfgang Pucks and Paradiso 37.

As others have suggested, a kids-free trip might be the chance to check out one or more of the signature places. And if you have a car, and are willing to drive off site, that opens a whole universe of possibilities. My first stop, as one who loves meat, would be Texas de Brazil, just a few blocks from Universal.

Other options are at Swan & Dolphin - also on the "upscale" end of things are Blue Zoo and Shula's - both expensive but worth it, especially compared to the Disney-owned locations.

And if you're looking for a place inside a theme park, La Hacienda at Epcot has good food, very good service, and if you time it right and get lucky with your table, a great view of Illuminations.

Ok here are a couple of our favorites.

Ohana at the Poly. Great food and a very cool, laid back atmosphere. It is a family style all you can eat meal. Pineapple bread, salad, sticky wings with 3 sauces, lomein noodles, veggies, skewers of sirloin, chicken, pork and peel/eat shrimp. Top it off with bread pudding with bananas foster caramel sauce....it is heaven!!
We always have a good time here. My only suggestion is if you are a med/rare beef eater, make sure to tell the server this. As the sirloin is always served well. (yuck)

Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL is next. Again great food and a fun atmosphere. They have a regular menu but also serve a bbq all you can eat "skillet" that is fabulous. The servers have fun with you, as they do antics and can be loud. But even if you don't have kids with you it can still be entertaining watching folks experience dining this way.

Crystal Palace in MK is another fav. This character buffet has very good food. Obviously Pooh and friends visit your table. And the atmosphere reminds me of "mary poppins". So cute and quaint.

Hopefully some of these have inspired you. Have a great trip!!
