We will be going in July for four or five days. We'd like to stay in the middle - around Kitty Hawk or Nags Head. Anyone have any lodging suggestions that are on the ocean? Anything at all would be so helpful.

Thanks so much!

Have a super day...

I was a young thing when I was last here - I can remember climbing a lighthouse - but am bumping it for you

We were at Nags Head back around Thanksgiving and stayed at The Nags Head Inn. It was nice and on the ocean. Definitely not up to caliber of Disney resorts, but it was clean. My Sis has a place at Nags Head and according to her you can rent homes that arent as expensive as some of the hotels and motels.

The # for TNHI is 800-327-8881 website nagsheadinn.com

Hope this helps!!

How long do you want to stay and how many are you going to be.
We have rented a vacation home in Duck, NC in the Pine Island area for the past 6 years. It just such a wonderful place. We travel with a couple of other families and the home we rent is so over the top. Nine master bedrooms (which means each has it own private bath), private beach access, our own 36x 24 private pool, 2 hot tubs, elevator, 16 seat movie theater (yes, a room that is a movie screening room, complete with a huge flat screen, and leather sofa seating for 15 to 18 people), a kitchen with two frig's, three ovens, 2 ice makers, 8 burner cook top, dining room tabel the seats 24 people!!, a game room with pool table. This home is unreal.

Anyway I wold call either the Sanderling Inn or there is a new Hampton Inn that was built last season, in the Corolla/Duck area.
I will try to post more info on thee for you later

Check some of the realtors.... Twiddy (www.twiddy.com) comes to mind, can't think of the others right now. You can check all sorts of cottages online.

The Pine Island / Corolla area is VERY nice (and pricey - large "cottages"), as mentioned above, but it is north of the area you mentioned by maybe 20 miles.

We typically stay in Duck / Sanderling area on the ocean front, but we book it way in advance.

Not sure what kind of luck you'll have at this point - start hunting and book soon. Have a great time!

Also....

Just noticed you mentioned staying for 4 or 5 days - most of the cottages book for a week (sat to sat or sun to sun).
