Suggestions for our dinner without the kids!!!

The girls will be spending the evening at one of the child care facilities and DH and I will be dining alone!!! First time in 12 years at WDW!!!

So..where do we go???

Some thoughts..............

California Grill
Citricos
Flying Fish
Artist Point

We have not eaten at any of the above for dinner..........
Please give me any and all your choices for a nice, quiet dinner alone with my husband!!!!

We haven't tried any of those restaurants yet either, but I am considering Artist Point for a dinner with my DH this October. My DD will go to the Cubs Den if we do. She had stayed at Simba's Clubhouse at AKL the first time we tried BOMAs - and she loved being there! She had so much fun, she's been asking to go back.

Which child care will your children be at? Maybe you could pick the restaurant that's closest to where they'll be. All of those restaurants usually get pretty good reviews. Or you may want to see if you can get California Grill around the time of the fireworks!

My wife and I had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at the California Grill a couple of years ago. And, yes, we were there when the MK fireworks went on. Just lovely.

Oh, remember to ask if they have a dessert shouffle on the menu. If they do and you wish to try it, you have to order it when you place your dinner order. I had a lemon shouffle which was just heavenly.

Citricos was nice last fall but I felt I didn't get the most of my meal there. Not because of the restaurant but because I'm not a wine drinker. They have whole meals designed around wines which I would think a person who loves wine would just have much more fun there than I did. The food was great!

Another place which doesn't get much talk around here is the Bistro de Paris in the French pavillion in Epcot's World Showcase. It only serves dinner and is located above Chefs de France. Afterwards, you can go out and watch Illuminations and, if you so choose, head over to the Boardwalk to sing, dance or just go hand in hand along the boardwalk. (Hmmm, if you don't do this, I know I will be! )

We have never been to Disney yet but my husband & I are having a non kid meal at Cailfornia Grill.

My mom is coming along with us & she agreed to watch my son that night so DH & I can go out.

From what I read the California Grill is a nice place to dine

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Artist Point last year without the children. I would go there again. The mushroom soup was fabulous, and the berry cobbler is amazing. My entree was the chicken dish and it was excellent as well, but the soup and cobbler really stand out! We will be having dinner at the California Grill on Saturday for our Anniversary--from everything I've read here I'm sure we are in for a wonderful dinner.

I would choose California Grill. We like AP and Citricos but California Grill is special. It also has a more extensive menu than the other three.

The wine room is very quiet at CG. If you ask to be seated there you can always walk out on the deck to see the fireworks.

Cali Grill - It is quieter in the Wine Room - you can see Illuminations but you HAVE to walk to the deck to see the MK fireworks. If you are seated in the main dining room, you will most likely get a view of Bay Lake (for the EWP) and the Castle/MK Fireworks. There is a very nice mixture of food on the menu from steaks, flatbread pizzas to fish, sushi and more exotic items. You can have an affordable dinner here (esp if you don't drink) but if you do drink, expect to pay at least $60-100 per person. It is a fantastic restaurant.

Artist Point - the food is very good and the restaurant is much quieter than CG. The room is soothing with a woods view outside the windows. We've had lovely dinners there but not perhaps special ones. Pricing is a bit less than CG.

Flying Fish was a lot of fun - also very loud. The Boardwalk location is nice. Menu is heavy on fish which we like. Pricing is very similar to CG.

Never eaten at Citricos - menu didn't appeal to us.

Here's another vote for the Cali Grill. We've been there a few times, and actually are doing a "solo" dinner there next Friday... wonderful menu, waitstaff is awesome, and the fireworks from the tower are awesome!!

AP is another rest. we'd LOVE to try someday - so since everyone else is recommending it too, I say give that a shot
