Suggestions for New Scrapbooker

Morgan has been invited to a 9th birthday party next weekend. The girl's mom said that she'd like to start scrapbooking. Does anyone have any (lower cost) suggestions for a nine year old to get her started?

I know what I'd get her, but I'm wondering if you have any better ideas.

I'd get basic things. Zig two-sided pens, solid cardstock, maybe some printed paper like Christmas/Birthday, snow themed, etc.

I don't know that I'd get an album or anything, I'd let her pick that depending on what style she wants.

Of course, I have two boys, so I really don't know!

check Js and Ms. they sometimes have kits. If not, set a limit and remind Dd about adhesives and the dollar bins.

JoAnn's had some cute kits. Try and find out that shows possible layouts with items included or it could be a little overwhelming at first.

that's a good idea about the layouts. how about some of the idea cards that they have a Jo's. i saw some really cute ones last time that was about friends and it was girly.

You could also check Michael's around the Disney stuff .... I know I've seen some cute little Tinker Bell albums and kits ... you could even use a coupon.

I don't know if you have a Hobby Lobby near you but they have SEI album kits. My sister is 11 and like them as they tell you what to do. THey have different size we normally get her the 8x8 or smaller.

Thanks everyone. I ended up getting her a Cuttlekids and an alpha (half price at M's last week). I figured if she didn't end up scrapping, she could still use them for school projects.
