Since my mother in law and niece are coming on our next WDW trip, I have an opportunity to leave the kids and venture out by myself.

Since I have not done anything by myself at WDW befor, I'm up for suggestions. I'm thinking Segway tour, but am open to all ideas.

the segway's a great idea, especially since there's an age limit (i think it's 16)...

we've done it twice and really enjoyed it both times...we did the segway around the world - where you learn for an hour and then go out in epcot riding through the countries....

I highly recommend the Lunch with an Imagineer experience at the Brown Derby in DHS. When I went with my sister in October, she took the kids to the Cape May character breakfast and I spent the morning at DHS and then doing the Imagineer Lunch at 11:30am. Just loved it. I met up with my sister and the kids at 2pm at TSM. (the lunch lasts about 2 hours) I also had a nice time before the lunch, the park was relatively quiet and I just did some shopping and stopped to watch some Streetmosphere skits. It was fun to have a couple hours on my own to do whatever stuck my fancy.

how many people are at the lunch?
what is the format?
is it always at the brown derby?

I hadn't thought of this, but it sounds like something i might like to do when i visit in june on my own (for a conference)...
I'm coming in early so that i'll have some park time before the conference....i wonder if it's still available....do you reserve it like a regular tour?

Yes, the lunch is always at the Brown Derby. It is held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:30am. The lunch is only 10 people and it is held in a private dining area called the Bamboo room. There isn't really a format. It's informal. The Imagineer doesn't stand up and give a talk or anything, it's basically a luncheon with the guest of honor being the Imagineer. He or she talks about coming to Disney, their job at Disney, ect...
I've done it three times. Each time I had a different Imagineer. All three were very good, interesting and seemed happy to be there. And, the food is very good too! HTH.

Be sure to call for your reservation right at the 60 day mark. I think it's 60 days still. It fills up FAST.

My first thought was the Around the World on a segway tour. DH & I did it in December leaving the kiddos with my Mom. It was a blast! I would do it again or even the Inspired by nature & design segway tour.
